Their Hidden Princess

Their Hidden Princess

“I’d be doing a terrible job if I let everyone’s grubby fingers all over it. The magiks around it preserve the book but still allow it to be read.” “Amazing,” I said as she gently floated the book towards me. I lifted my hand as if to pull back the cover and the hazy purple shadows did it for me. I blinked in response. Magiks were still so new to me. The librarian clearly noticed. “Your family doesn’t use much high magiks, do they?” I shook my head. “Not while I was around, at least.” The librarian hummed. Then, she swiped her hand over the book. Instantly, all of the strange symbols and letters on the first page shifted and became plain English. I looked up at her and she smiled.

His Midnight Luna

His Midnight Luna

“I heard of this book as a kid. It's called the book of forbidden spells. Only to be used when one is in dire danger and needs urgent saving.” She stopped at a page and placed it before me. “That is it. Can you even read it?” The page before me seemed like gibberish, rubbish that I could read. When I shook my head at Magma, she sighed and then leaned forward. “Oops, you have to take that off. I forgot. There is no way you can do magic with it on you. That means you'll dispel energy and your scent. Are you willing to risk being found?* I didn't even need to think about it. That was exactly what I wanted.

“Isn’t it the same with the knights? I wouldn’t mind being escorted by one if I happen to have a chance.” “Oh my, you all are a bunch of newbies. Don’t you know that the appeal of a mysterious mage is more than enough to be grateful for? Imagine a night full of excitement and magic.” Oh man, even in this world you really can’t get rid of human nature and habits, huh. I was not surprised that girls in this world are also fangirling over handsome-looking men. I mean, don’t we all? I started to chuckle, and then finally caught my attention, this familiar description of my favorite mage character in one of the books I used to read a lot. It was titled, ‘The Four Roses and the Butterfly’ which wa

Flight of the cardinal

Flight of the cardinal

And Faiths were the closest thing we had to Gods. Magic wielders were an in-between. They were created hundreds of years ago, but no one knew how they came into the world. They simply appeared one day, being neither human nor shifter. I sighed, looking at the cover of the encyclopedia. Why would my magic want me to look at this? And how was this book still intact? Osprey had ordered every book on magic or shifters to be destroyed. After I retrieved the book from the library on my first day, I returned to my room and placed it on the table, eyeing it with frightened curiosity. I couldn’t bring myself to open it and read its content—it felt wrong.

“I’ll never come back.” “If he lets me stay, I’ll persuade him to let me out to gather herbs to make healing poultices.” “You don’t know the first damn thing about poultices!” Hawk spat. His face tinted blue from the dancing lights in the cabin, weaving up and down as they hovered in the air to give us enough light to converse. And plan. “No.” Magus admitted. “But your bookworm there does.” He nodded toward me. Hawk glanced down and I met his study.

She imagined what it would feel like on the other parts of her body again. "Sil? Sil?" She snapped out of her thoughts though it took a little shake. "Penny for your thoughts". She smiled. "It wasn't something serious. Just random thoughts". "And you don't want to talk about it? Is it about the chimera?" He peered into her eyes. "No, no my love it isn't. I'm fine. What were you saying?" "Master Arcus left me a book, Magix of death and life." Sil looked at him wide eyed. "Isn't that the book about Necromancy?"

Strange short stories

Strange short stories

A family of very humble magicians. They helped noble warriors and heroes, but they never charged anything. Well, they believed they would always be rewarded. For this reason, they lived in a very humble condition, even though they were mighty magicians. The magician couple's children were three. None of them wanted to follow the wizard's path, as they assumed they would be miserable like their parents. The older one was Igor, he was intelligent but sometimes too bold. He had black long hair and already had a small beard. The second one was Allan, he was aromatic, energetic, and I trusted people effortlessly. He was very similar to his older brother, but had medium hair and no beard. The last

Chasing Bella's shadow

Chasing Bella's shadow

The doors were locked so that the three mates were left in peace until the service began, and the High priestess looked at her grandson lying so still amongst the silk folds of his final bed. The glamour spells were the strongest the witches, warlocks, and wizards could make for their heroes. No energy was spared to spin the webs that held their bodies together-only the creators of the web and those who fought in battle would know the true state of the Tri mates bodies as they plummeted back to earth after ensnaring Magnus forever.

After reading many many different book on many different platforms, this book is by far the most tantalising, it has totally bewitched me. No book or story have ever got me day dreaming of what happens next whilst I do my daily tasks. There is not enough time in a day to keep constantly reading.

At the heart of 'The Magicians' lies a tale that blends the ordinary with the extraordinary. It follows Quentin Coldwater, a high school senior who's obsessed with a series of fantasy novels set in the magical land of Fillory. He spends his days dreaming of this enchanting world, but reality hits hard when he learns that magic is real and he's invited to attend Brakebills, a secretive school for magicians. Now, imagine the thrill of discovering that everything you believed was just fantasy can actually be a part of your life!

As Quentin navigates the challenges of mastering magic, he also contends with the complexities of friendship, love, and the darker sides of power. The allure of magic becomes somewhat intoxicating, yet it leads him down a road filled with unforeseen consequences. The characters, from the ambitious to the deeply flawed, bring nuance to the story, showcasing the struggles they face not just in casting spells but also in finding their own identities. Quentin's journey is one that resonates deeply with anyone who has ever felt dissatisfaction with their mundane reality, serving as a metaphor for the trials of adulthood.

What really struck me was the duality of magic as both a blessing and a curse. As Quentin delves deeper into the magical realm, he learns that Fillory isn't the utopia he had always imagined. It's chaotic, dangerous, and often filled with betrayals. This realization adds a level of depth that challenges the traditional concepts of heroism and fantasy, allowing the book to resonate on multiple levels. It’s a compelling read that offers not just escapism, but also a sharp reflection on the nature of desire and the consequences of our choices.
