Author's pov. Raven ran after Draven until her lungs burned out. The docks were a mess of ropes, splintered wood, and men hauling gear. A ship sat at the river bank. Men were climbing aboard with crates containing food skd resources. Raven's fists clenched the moment her eyes landed on Draven who had boarded the ship. “Draven!” she yelled, her voice loud and raw. Draven stood near the gangplank, calm as always. His cloak hung heavy on his shoulders and his face was a mask of patience. He watched the sailors with a quiet smile, as if the world were doing exactly what he wanted.

The wind punched from his chest. Raven's eyes widened, locking on Noah. Mouth open, she stumbled back. She pressed a hand to the right side of her chest, just over her breast, and looked down. Blood seeped from between her fingers. Confusion wrinkled her forehead. And then-she stumbled off the edge. "Noooo-" Gunfire rang out, muting the helicopter blades, the roar of the ocean, his own screaming. Soreno jerked, fell to his knees, and flopped face-first in the snow.

I wandered between the shelves, letting familiar smells of old paper calm my thoughts. History. Law. Military strategy. Medicinal herbs. Werewolf bloodlines. I stopped… bloodlines. But I ran into... complications.” I narrowed my eyes. “What kind of complications?” Raven hesitated, and that alone set my wolf on edge. “It wasn’t just rogues guarding the place,” she said finally. “There was someone else. Someone I didn’t expect.”

I demanded. Xander stepped close to me and looked into my eyes, his expression serious. "You know that the clinic burning down wasn't an isolated incident, just like this vampire's murder wasn't an isolated incident either. Aisha gave out a loud ear piercing scream and wriggled just like an earthworm thrown in a jar of salt , she kept on screaming like a maniac until there was no more voice left in her throat, her crying and wriggling gradually become week in just couple of seconds along with her voice as I kept pressing hot iron rod more into her skin, a minute later when I was done I got up from her knee and pulled away iron rod of her foot which was now stained with her burned skin and blood, I walked back to coal griller and harshly threw iron rod on it and turned to look back Aisha’s vulnerable helpless figure as she stayed there on floor waiting to be consumed by darkness. “In a way, I suppose me and Dante do oversee things, but we all do our part here, Raven. We all hunt and gather food, we all bring back fresh water, guard the camp, put together new homes, train together. We just all work together nicely in peace. “It all just looks and sounds so incredible, grams”. I told her with amazement. “It is Raven. This is my home, and I absolutely adore it”. Alice, munching on popcorn, watched intently as if viewing a movie while Lavi smiled at her. Raven entered Jacob's home, settling in like a regular visit.
