Dirty little games

Dirty little games

"I spoke to almost everyone who still lives around that neighborhood. Most of them didn't see or notice anything unusual” My shoulders sank slightly. "But..." The word made me look back up. "There was one boy I met. He couldn't have been more than fourteen or fifteen. Coming back from school. He said he'd fallen asleep in the school library and woke up much later. On his way home that evening, something felt strange." My pulse quickened. "He remembered seeing someone wandering around your house that very same day." I frowned. "Someone?” Was it really not the debt collectors just as Damien had said?

No Free House

No Free House

I ignored the scattered criticism and glanced at Chloe, whose face had already turned scarlet. "Everyone, please be patient. I haven't reached the main event yet." Chloe panicked, and the carefully practiced smile on her face cracked. She knew the rest of the list couldn't withstand public scrutiny, so she stepped forward to stop me. I let her snatch the paper away and tear it into pieces. Then I calmly pulled out my phone, opened the photo I'd taken of the list, and continued. "Chloe is also demanding that I give her a house free of charge. It must be at least twice the size and value of our current home. That would put the price at no less than $450,000, before renovations..."

Young, a psychologist, and her voice was gentle. "Hello, Dex." I didn't reply. Standing beside her, Mom wrung her hands anxiously. "You have to give him a command, or he won't talk." Dr. Young glanced at Mom. Her brow furrowed. "Please tell me your name," Dr. Young said, phrasing it as a command. "Unit 1314." The tip of Dr. Young's pen paused over her notepad. "What about your real name?" "Dexter Griffin. However, that is a legacy identifier. Academy regulations stipulate that alumni must utilize their designated unit numbers as their official form of address."

Eighty dollars. My family was not well off, and I only had eight hundred dollars a month for living expenses. I could not afford it. So, I gave it up. I did not expect him to wait for me downstairs at my dorm that night, his face red as he handed me the hair clip. Back then, he was bright and handsome. While he was dressed plainly, he had the clean look of an innocent young man. I had heard rumors about him before. Everyone said he was stingy. Even when his roommate accidentally used his shampoo a few times, Jason made him pay for it. But now, he was willing to give me such an expensive hair clip.

A Free Relationship

A Free Relationship

He patted Seth's shoulder, saying, "I'll always remember the help you gave us at the time, Seth." Ethan and his friends had developed their first game three years after establishing their company. Due to their inexperience, someone had tricked their source code out of them. For the second game, they'd learned their lesson and hadn't gotten their source code stolen. However, an established gaming company had launched a game similar to the one they'd developed. Ultimately, their small company couldn't compete with the established one, leading to the failure of their game. As for the third one, they'd finally managed to find an investor for the game, but the guy had run away halfway through. An

I already suspected that Ethan has a terminal illness! Though this is only a fictional storyline, but in reality, first, there are still a lot of ways for a remedy to an illness even cancer especially nowadays with so much advance technology in finding a cure

I enjoyed this story the most of the shorts I’ve read over the past few days. It had a great ending, not like the trashy endings of others. It made you torn, wondering who you’re rooting for, Ethan or Seth. It was very touching, one that will stay with you for a while. Reading it again is a must!

I muttered before shifting back to the dummies, not wanting to pursue the conversation any longer. “Okay, that sounded better in my head, redo?” I stalled and slowly turned towards him. His figure towered over me easily, but he didn’t seem like much of a threat. With a bright smile on his face and peachy cheeks he looked like he couldn't hurt a fly. I could be wrong. “I’m Elijah Trebos. It’s nice to finally put a face to the legend I’ve been hearing so much about.” He shot me an amiable smile, and I just looked towards him with a bare expression.
