Kalista had lied to one of the maids that she was having trouble sleeping and needed pills to make her fall asleep. The maid had then given her a pouch filled with pink pills, instructing Kalista on how to use them. A pill twice a day would do the trick. The maid had also warned Kalista not to take more than prescribed because it would knock her out for days. When Kalista opened the pouch containing the pills, the unicorn perked up and began to nudge her hand. Apparently, the pills had a pleasant smell and it made the creature think it was something good. Kalista poured out the pink pills onto her palm and held it out for the creature.

**Mia's POV** The morning light filtered through the bay windows of my bedroom, casting rainbow prisms across the polished wood of my vanity. I stared at the small army of pill bottles that had appeared there sometime during the night, arranged in neat, clinical rows. Blues, whites, pale pinks, and soft yellows – a rainbow arsenal of chemical intervention. My fingers traced the edge of the nearest bottle.
