Zang pushed away San harshly from him and tsked. “Tch. Tch. Tch. San, this is YOUR soulmate ?! This human here called you his mate. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA,” he laughed hysterically and San seemed even more heart broken as she watched Zang walk in my direction. “Mate thinks we can’t fight this self obsessed moron here,” Titan whimpered through the mindlink. “She thinks we are weak,” he added woefully. “She cares for us. That is why buddy,” I pacified him and that made him cheer up as he thumped around in my head making me chuckle inwardly.

Even now, days later, to access my powers feels like wading through mud with invisible chains weighing me down but when I do, I destroy them in an instant. “What do you want from me?” I asked, though I already feared the answer. “I want proof you’re more than raw power in a body,” Raven said. His eyes held me like steel. “I want to see the strong warrior I trained, the monster and also you in control of it.” A heavy gate opens at the far side of the arena. My stomach knotted. Harbor, the titan of the ocean. Atlas, the titan of the sky. Una, the titan of memories. Everest, the titan of land. Raiden, the titan of thunder and lightning. Azar, the titan of fire. The Titans, named after the old human mythology about the creatures who created the cosmos, are our creators. They are the dragons responsible for founding the courts and growing the seeds of our civilization. But my heart and mind are at war as I watch Nilla gleefully awaken the other Grand Elders.

I greeted when he picked up on the second ring. “Well, well. If it isn’t the league’s hottest new commodity,” Thorne’s voice was slick, immediately recognizing the untraceable number I used exclusively for him. “Last I saw you, you were being forcibly extracted from a high-society event by your owner, who looked like he was auditioning for a Victorian-era villain. What can I do for you, Logan?” “I have information that may be of interest for your piece on the shifting dynamics at the top of the league,” I stated, bypassing the small talk. “It concerns the apparent stress points within Titan’s management structure.”
