Ashes of the Beloved

Ashes of the Beloved

Around midnight she reached the section describing Meher's gradual decline. The whispers. The forest. The growing suspicion. The fear. A knot formed in her stomach. She kept reading. Then came the murder. The rain. The clearing. Meher's final words. I have only loved you. Aisha closed the notebook abruptly. The room felt too warm. For several moments she simply sat there staring at nothing. The tragedy struck harder than she expected. Not because it was real. Because it wasn't. Somehow that made it worse. A fictional murder should not have felt devastating.

Where Ashes and Oaths Collide

Where Ashes and Oaths Collide

each word was punctuated by another grind of their bodies together. “Tomorrow, we lay siege to Cidade dos escravos. One of the Santo orders greatest assets,” Escuro said as he slowly started removing Escuridade’s robe. “And either one of us might not see another sunrise. I think, we both need to be reminded of what we are fighting for.” Her breath hitched at his words, the grim reality of their mission crashing over her like a wave. Cidade dos escravos– she knew the fortress intimately; its stone walls were steeped in blood and dark magic, a monument to everything they despised. The thought of potentially losing him tomorrow sent a cold dread through her that had nothing to do with her own i

Ashes of Our Affection

Ashes of Our Affection

He let his mind drift through old memories. The next day, dressed in nothing but a white dress shirt and black slacks, Cole was finally discovered by the cemetery's security staff. His face had gone dark from the cold, but there was a faint smile at the corner of his lips. Snow drifted down from the sky in thin, scattered flakes. Cole had frozen to death. He'd died at the side of the grave marked, "In loving memory of Isabel Cavendish, my beloved wife."

The Werewolf Academy

The Werewolf Academy

While me, Alex, and Vincent decided to walk. At first I thought Land of Ashes was just a symbolic title because that's where the bodies of werewolves, victims of war, were burned to ashes. But Land of Ashes is really colored ... gray. No trees or grass grew in the area, nothing lived on it. Just a gray-brown expanse of barren land about the size of two football fields. In the new surroundings there are dense trees that surround. And above there the evening sky is orange as a contrast background.

WOLF DEN (BOOK:-1) The Mystery of Black Clan

WOLF DEN (BOOK:-1) The Mystery of Black Clan

Ash knees finally gave in as he kneeled in the floor and gasped. "God! Who would do such a cruel thing to these victims?" Ash shrieked tears started to pour down his eyes at the cruelty he just witnessed. His knees were covered with red, crimson blood and he took in the pile of dead bodies scattered everywhere around the room. Their joints, arms and legs were disembodied from their bodies. Their orbit was devoid of any eye sockets anymore, as they bathed in a large, red pool of blood. His stomach churned out and it made him want to puke.

Ashes and Rose Petals

Ashes and Rose Petals

“What about you, Mary?” “I can’t imagine why anyone would be looking for me,” she said with a shrug. “And I work for you now. So I’ll do whatever you want.” “How do you have any money when you’re dead?” Rome asked her. “Bart moved all of my money before I died. It looks like I gave it all to charities before I killed myself. All of your money is in a new account, too,” she added. “Wait--I have money?” Rome asked.

Stepbrother’s Obsession: Claimed By The Triplet Alphas

Stepbrother’s Obsession: Claimed By The Triplet Alphas

Sat on the floor where my mother once bled for a cause she thought could be cleansed. And I wrote. Not orders. Not last words. But names. The names of every soldier who died because of this. Every ally betrayed. Every whisper that turned to a knife. I would carry them. Because someone had to. Because vengeance without memory is just blood. And I was done letting them forget who we were. --- Asher — POV Dusk fell fast. The wind turned strange—sharper, colder, full of static like a storm about to break. Then we heard it.

A Heart Reduced to Ashes

A Heart Reduced to Ashes

Yoel had already planned to get rid of his companies and assets slowly, and the person receiving them was me. I had already learned about all the things that had happened recently. For example, after I fainted, Yoel exposed the painting Rosa had stolen, and it destroyed her reputation. He didn't take back the art gallery and all the paintings and jewelry he had given to her. Instead, he burned everything to the ground. As the flames burned, he said with a smile, "You've messed with a devil, Rosa. No one else will donate their kidneys to you now, so you should just wait for your death in pain. You're the one who has fallen from grace."

Rising from the Ashes

Rising from the Ashes

Andrew spat another mouthful of blood but said nothing as he lifted his sword again and swung down with everything he had. Julius finally lost his patience. "If you're that eager to die, I'll grant your wish." His single hand blurred through the air, creating several afterimages, and a ball of pitch-black light the size of a fist shot straight toward Andrew. From behind, Brielle screamed, "Andrew, move! That's the Bloodshadow! Once it touches you, you're dead!" Yet Andrew's eyes remained disturbingly calm in that life-and-death moment. He let Godslayer fly from his hands, sending it crashing forward again, but this time not at Julius' face.

Reynir Kjartansson
Very good story and the ending was relatively good since each part of the story give a obvious closure. The audio book is also available the whole story. Other authors should follow this example. There is nothing worse than a forced ending or a cut off story, so this story gets all stars, great job!

Rising From The Ashes

Rising From The Ashes

I breathe out, my energy slowly draining away that I could no longer stand still. "There's no network sweetheart" He stops against a tree before leaning back, stuffing his hands in his pocket and throwing his head back as if posing for a photo. "I meant the message through mind-link.I am not a member of this Pack but you are" I explain whilst sitting down on the roots. The sun has begun to set down, taking away the little bit of light that was helpful in the forest. Now it's shadowed and within a while, we will be surrounded with darkness. The thought itself made me anxious.I hate darkness. It only reminds me of the brutal death of my best friend.
