Alpha's Second Choice

Alpha's Second Choice

They moved deeper into the library until Pat stopped at a lone pedestal in the center of the room. Upon it sat a thick, dusty tome bound in what looked like pale, cracked leather. The cover bore no title—just a symbol: a blazing fire crowned by three horns, with jagged lines splitting its base. Pat opened the book carefully. “Mad kings of the underworld” Jo leaned in, reading the strange, curling script etched in faded ink. She flipped to a brittle page near the middle and read through the passages. Jo squinted at the faded riddle, where she finally saw a mention of the name “Malrik.”

The Sapphire Queen

The Sapphire Queen

I was having doubts, but as I passed the bedroom, I heard her laughing out loud, so I knew she was excellent. ◼◼◼ Now here I am, trying to relax and have a short peaceful time to myself. As I got some books to read, a small one caught my attention. It was the small book that the Count gave me; I had forgotten about that book. Deciding I should continue reading and try to see what was all these riddles about. I took a seat on my balcony table and started reading. So far, it’s about riddles, nothing concrete, that can explain what’s all this about. The riddles mention love, hate, wars, power, rock, sacrifice, and blood. There are also some runes and some words in Latin.

Elaine of Artharia

Elaine of Artharia

Reaching the glass box, the girl let her fingers glide along the smooth letters chiseled into the golden rim. “The Magicae Book.” It was a breath on Andrew’s lips, falling against her cheek so differently than the stinking guard. It was sweet and low, as if the word was magic itself. Elaine tried to lift the lid, but it didn’t budge. Words trailed along the sides of the glass, the metal seeming to shine against the pain. Reading quickly, she breathed. “A riddle. It opens with a riddle.” Andrew chewed his lip, reading the words from over her shoulder aloud in a hushed tone. “Don’t push her too far, or you may find your adventures to be through. But on the draw, the stroke, the streak, the lad

The Mage's Heart

The Mage's Heart

“My goodness.” Rivyn laughed. “You are considering using me as bait?” my voice rose at the end in scandalised horror as I realised his plan. “Well, it is one way to get the dragon out of his cave. I’d make sure to rescue you, at the end, of course,” he finished with a laugh. “This should do it,” he drew Coryfe to a stop and swung himself down, placing the spell components out before us before remounting. “How is it that you know the location of all these books?” I asked him as he remounted behind me, taking the reins.

A brilliant adult fairy tale! Dark romance, fairies, sirens, mages, dragons, dark elves, mermaids, trolls, imps, spells, and quests. I loved it, an action packed adventure from beginning to end. Folk lore and fae stories truly came alive, I fell in love with the characters and got lost in the story.

The Brightest Star

The Brightest Star

"Unbelievable! I can't believe it. I am right! If I hadn't learned the riddle by heart, I would never have realized its meaning that was hidden under my nose." "From your words, I take it you have found the answer finally." "Yes! I am certain," Apollyon finally revealed a genuine smile. The first one he had for a while. A smile of satisfaction that was compatible with his childlike face. "I subconsciously knew the answer. It was always there, yet, I couldn't see it. Scarlet, teal, orange, red, although all these are separate words, their beginning seems to form another word with an entirely different meaning. However, something still misses. Something more. In love With My Lycan Stepbrothers

And if there's not, well, sex with Jake in any position of my choice here in the library seemed tempting either way. "Revelis Intermorta," I said. Gold flecks surrounded the book and around my fingers the instant I said the spell. From the corner of my eye, I could see Jake in awe, looking all around us at the bright hue covering us. I smiled, turning my attention back to the book, trying to keep my focus on it.

The Vampire and the Mage

The Vampire and the Mage

He knew because her eyes didn't move through the lines, nor did she turn the page after a long minute. He cleared his throat. "I know you have more guts than other ladies but I didn't know you were bold enough to read such a book in open space, Lady Lewis." Melrose lost her thoughts when he heard Lord Knight all of the sudden. She met his gaze and her eyes narrowed in suspicion when she saw the taunting mischief in his eyes. Realizing what he said, she looked at the cover of the book and her lips parted in shock. She almost threw the book! What the bloody hell!

The Dark Below

The Dark Below

“They were out too far…for a reason. “Rodin says. Slowly, Rodin lifts his fingertips from the puddle. The blood drips back into the pool. The blood is thick almost like sludge and smells like rotten meat when it's cooked. Rodin flings the blood on the teal grass which cleans the shine on his armor. Rodin stands and he starts to walk to the tent with the flag. Varick looks over the pile. On his side is a satchel, he reaches in this compartment to pull out a book. The book’s title: “Book of The Blight.” Carefully, he sets his wolf helm down on a clean spot among the forest. The plate head sparks with pink electricity, causing the headpiece to slightly hover along with the grassy blade tips. Va

The Kind Villain: A Legend of Woof-Woof

The Kind Villain: A Legend of Woof-Woof

"Oh, then why are we here in the future?" "And why are werewolves believed to be fiction?" Ruth follows up too. "Good questions," I answered. I wrote the spell quickly on my spellbook's empty page. I now know the answer to the only question needed to solve. Finally, I stood in front of the telephone, stretched my hand toward the pendulum, and the letters of the spell formed the shape of an enchast levitating in front of the clock. I haven't laid a finger on the telephone when it rings. I look at Ruth, she's clueless at first then she spills her assumption,

Frequently Asked Questions

Delving into the life of Tom Marvolo Riddle at Hogwarts feels like peeling back layers of a dark and intricate onion. His journey really showcases how power and ambition can twist a person’s soul. In his early years, Riddle was exceptionally talented, showing a knack for magic that dazzled both peers and professors. He was a Slytherin, after all, and he quickly learned how to manipulate those around him to serve his interests. Rumor has it he discovered the Chamber of Secrets during his time, which is pretty haunting, considering the havoc it wreaked years later.

Riddle’s thirst for knowledge led him to uncover secrets about the school’s history, particularly regarding the Dark Arts. He befriended the young Basilisk, a creature that symbolized his increasing affinity for darkness. It’s chilling to think about what he must have felt when he began to realize that he could create Horcruxes – a means to attain true immortality by siphoning his soul.

The items he sought to hide pieces of himself reflected not only his intelligence but also a profound sense of fear and insecurity. It's so fascinating how his dark curiosity transformed into a relentless pursuit for power. His time at Hogwarts essentially laid the groundwork for the menacing figure he’d become. It’s bittersweet to view Riddle as a sad boy who could have been great if only he hadn’t embraced that darker path.
