Zombies Be My Wrath
With a crack, the rusty kitchen knife sank deep into the gap near the zombie's collarbone and stuck there.
The zombie felt no pain. With the knife still lodged in its shoulder, it opened its reeking, bloodstained mouth and lunged for Julian's neck.
Julian released the handle in terror, grabbed the zombie by the throat with both hands, and used all his strength to shove it away.
At that critical moment, a rush of footsteps came from the stairwell behind him.
Another zombie in a janitor's uniform had been drawn over by the noise, and it rushed out of the darkness and bit down on Julian's calf.
