Taller scythe‑blades swung in slow, testing arcs above.
Between them, mirrors grew.
Tall, narrow slabs of reflective surface, some clear, some warped, some smoked. They jutted up at odd angles, catching and fracturing the light, multiplying images.
Within seconds, the arena floor was no longer flat.
It was a nightmare landscape of blades and mirrors.
My reflection flashed in one, then three, then nine surfaces at once—eyes too bright, expression too stark. Selene’s did the same opposite, her figure splintered into a hall of Champions.
