One afternoon, I sat on the couch folding tiny onesies while Tracy was in the kitchen humming softly to herself. She stopped suddenly, leaning against the counter and pressing a hand to her belly. I rushed toward her.
“Tracy, what’s wrong?” I asked, my voice trembling.
She smiled faintly, taking a deep breath. “Nothing. Just a little cramp. The doctor said it’s normal at this stage.”
“Still, you should rest.”
She shook her head, forcing a small smile. “Not until you eat something first.”
