Traded My Hammer for a Toy
I wore a casual suit, sitting under the oak tree in the yard with my parents and Riley, sharing stories and enjoying the feast.
"Sebastian, try this. It's your favorite, the beef stuffing," Mom said, handing me a slice of pie.
"Thanks, Mom," I replied with a smile.
Seated across from me, Riley offered me a mini crab pie, rich with crab meat and a touch of spice. "Here, fuel up."
I looked at her and feigned a stern expression. "Riley, if you keep feeding me like this, I'll never find a wife."
"Who wouldn't want to marry you?" Riley's eyes sparkled. "Anyone who does is the lucky one. My brother is a catch!"
