The Tarot Cards Never Lie, but People Do

The Tarot Cards Never Lie, but People Do

I wasn't sure what Mikael said to Tori, but not long after, she returned. Of course, she was still clutching that deck of tarot cards she never went anywhere without. Her face was plastered with a sugary smile as she laid out the cards in front of me, gesturing theatrically for me to pick a few cards. She glanced down. Within seconds, she let out a dramatic gasp. "Ms. Gilbert, this spread is absolutely divine!

Black Card

Black Card

This life… still feels unreal. Ethan didn’t stop there. When they reached the counter, he didn’t step forward. He didn’t take the card. Instead—he let her handle it. “Use it,” he said simply from where he sat at the lounge, relaxed, composed, as if this was nothing. As if this was normal. Belle froze. The black card in her hand suddenly felt heavier than all the bags she carried combined. Her fingers tightened around it as she approached the counter, her steps hesitant. A thin sheen of sweat formed on her forehead despite the cool air inside the boutique.

DEATH REINCARNATE

DEATH REINCARNATE

“The card games.” “Tsk!” clicking his tongue as his confidence overflows together with his pride as the top gambler. He stares at the deck of cards as it represents the games and core of the next book, where the Tarot cards calls, reveal and are laid upon to their world as the inevitable first book is about to end. “Before we start, I shall give you a chance to quit as you know who am I in these kinds of games, don’t you, Jaira?”

THE NEWEST ALPHA

THE NEWEST ALPHA

Is there some kind of anti-wolf spray I can use? “I'm afraid no spell is powerful enough to repel a lycanthrope's primordial energy. Clara smiled, slamming a stack of decks of black cards down on the counter. “I can sell you a deck of DownMoor tarot cards. Each card has different photos of DownMoor's famous spiritual landmarks. They also have play instructions inside. — Instructions on how to play? “Tarot cards were originally designed as playing cards,” Clara placed a deck in front of me. “If you're in the middle of the woods, maybe you could use a little entertainment.

It was there, amidst the switching sounds of water and the soft glow of bioluminescent organisms, that they stumbled upon a worn deck of cards, tucked away in a forgotten corner. Intrigued by the discovery, they examined the deck with curiosity. Just as they were about to explore its contents, Trent, a seasoned inmate covered in black tattoos that matched his tail and hair, noticed their interest. With graceful movements, he swam towards them, his hands fluidly signing, "Hey, do you know how to play Tridents? I can teach you if you like."

OWNED BY THE MADDOX BROTHERS

OWNED BY THE MADDOX BROTHERS

I watched them closely, not risking even the slightest movement. Matteo scratched the corner of his mouth, something he always did when he had a strong hand. The one with a scar on his eyebrow tapped the table twice when he was bluffing a capture. The quiet one on the left breathed through his nose, something he also did when he was screwed. First two rounds, I lost to them. But not again, even if it meant having a tie. The table now has a seven of cups, a three of swords, a king, and the ace of coins — the most valuable card in the deck.

I replied with a smile. "How about something to cure boredom?" Vic questioned. I rose my eyebrow and smirked. "Now, that I do have something for." I replied. "Really? You're spell book has something for boredom?" Craig asked with confusion. "No" I answered as I put my book away in my bag and searched for something in it. I smiled as I found it and pulled it out. "But I do have these." I said and held up the deck of playing cards. "Yasss!" Paul cheered as Craig grinned.

Really engaging story with an interesting take on the usual werewolf themes - hope you are able to update soon though as I’m dying to know what happens next! It’s been a while since the last one, hope everything is ok with you

Great book. Well paced, intriguing characters with very solid world building. My one qualm is that there are, at times, too many characters. Often there are a lot of names being thrown around and its hard to tell who's who.

I Was Your Dying Omega, Now I'm Your Sovereign Alpha

I Was Your Dying Omega, Now I'm Your Sovereign Alpha

I had been sitting with that exact piece of information in the dark rooms, weighing what it meant for the legal seats and what it did not mean for our safety, and I had finally arrived at a fresh conclusion that surprised my own mind a little bit. The core conclusion was very simple. There was exactly one major card left in my hand that I had not played before the territory panel, and it was not a weapon card that I could swing to crack a skull. It was a trade card. It was a piece of paper that I had to give away entirely to get any real value from the deal at all. "Tristain's father was not the only outside connection in the payment chain," I spoke, my voice staying low so it did not wake t

A Bargain Of Hearts

A Bargain Of Hearts

“You must be very busy doing... whatever it is you do all day.” The next encounter was in the library. I’d gone there to escape her, thinking it was the one place she wouldn’t bother me. I was wrong. “Oh, I love this room,” she said as she walked in, trailing her fingers along the spines of the books. “Max and I used to spend hours in here. He has such a good eye for first editions, don’t you think?” I clenched my jaw, refusing to rise to the bait. She pulled a book off the shelf, flipping through it. “It’s funny, isn’t it? How life works out. You, an actress turned... well, whatever you are now. And me, still as close to Max as ever.”

Curse Of Wine & Belladonna

Curse Of Wine & Belladonna

Tinea began to shuffle the tarot cards, staring intently at Artemisia's hand that was holding the envelope. "There are other places where the story of something focuses books are sometimes not necessary for you to understand what happened. I knew the essentials, the beginning." Tinea stretched out the open deck of cards like a fan. Artemisia pulled some letters, admiring the gold of the back, there were drawings of leaves so delicate that the young woman could spend hours and hours watching it.
