Until the sirens blared behind them.
“Oh, come on,” he groaned, glancing at the rearview mirror. “I didn’t even break anything this time.”
“You were doing eighty in a forty zone,” Rhea said flatly.
He sighed, pulling over. “Eighty felt like forty.”
Two traffic officers approached, one holding a ticket pad, the other already annoyed. Fenrak lowered his window, his trademark grin in place.
