The power inside me settled, not disappearing but becoming manageable.
Jaxon, seeing his warriors scattered and defeated, finally called for retreat. But before he turned and left, he fastened me in his gaze, and the chill ran down to my bones.
“This isn't over,” he snarled. “Whatever you are, whatever you've become-you're still mine. And I will have you back.”
