Christian grabbed my back trying to steady me. "Sierra what are you doing?" he asked, his breath on my neck. "You cannot reprogram the computer in twenty seconds!" "I am not reprogramming it " I whispered my jaw clenched. "I am changing the code. The machine wants a Benson pulse. I have it." Julians eyes went wide. He grabbed the desk. "The genetic split! Sierra your code is a match! You do not need Leo!" Helen screamed, her face twisted in terror. She lunged at me trying to grab the tablet. "Sierra stop! Your brain cannot handle it! It will kill you!"

Biting down harder, I felt them hit bone. Using her weight, she fell over on top of him. He let go as our weight pushed against his lungs, and on the floor. A final crack made us sink in the floor. The carpet held strong. Making eye contact with Jasper, he shook his head no as Sierra used her claw and cut the carpet. Instantly making them both fall through the floor. As her head passed, the door burst open and our warriors came in shooting their guns. Sierra landed on Alpha Rip, crushing her fall. Instantly jumping up, she was expecting him to come after her again. However, there was a single wooden shrapnel sticking out of his neck. Shaking, he transformed back into Alpha Rip’s human form.

“Do you want a cookie or something? You didn’t notice, because you chose not to notice. You chose to listen to everyone else instead of digging a little deeper into the truth, Alpha Silas. I’m done with this conversation.” The driver opened the door for me and helped me inside. His eyes darkened as he saw my swollen cheek. I shook my head slightly and closed the door. He walked around and got into the driver’s seat. Silas knocked on the window. I lowered it, just barely. “What?” “Neriah, let me make this right.” I scoffed. “Pass. I don’t trust you any more than I trust those criminals inside that pack house,” I said, and then looked at the driver. “Let’s go.”

Not now. Damien’s gaze flicked toward her, piercing, calculating, unyielding. “One step wrong,” he murmured, voice almost gentle, “and everything you’ve built… everything you’ve fought for… will collapse.” Sierra felt a chill run down her spine. But amidst the fear, she clung to her mother’s hand, to the woman’s steady presence, to the strategy they had planned. Her mother whispered urgently, “Sierra… when I give the signal do not hesitate. Do exactly as I say. Trust yourself. Trust us.”

They weren't gods of flesh and blood; they were non-sentient, super-intelligent AIs—the ultimate executors of absolute efficiency. "ALERT," the central Prime, a being composed of millions of interlinking silver prisms, pulsed with chaotic red light. "Anomaly 0-9-9-H (Earth) has breached quarantine. Security Fleet integrity: 12%. Rogue Weaver integration with Sovereign Alpha: 99.8%. Probability of total dimension formatting failure: 78%." The second Prime, a sphere of swirling azure calculations, offered the only logical solution. "INITIATING TOTAL REALITY REBOOT. AUTHORIZATION: PRIME. ERASURE OF SECTOR 0-9-9-H INEVITABLE."

The drone crashes to the ground in a shower of twisted metal and dying green sparks. I stand in the middle of the battlefield, chest heaving, blood and ash coating my skin, watching my mate bring the sky down. Sienna is barely standing. Golden light still crackles around her hybrid form, claws extended, her eyes still glow faintly. She just tore through the final wave like it was nothing. The government forces arrived in time to witness the end of it.

“Never.” Liora’s voice cut through the pain. “Kade! The self-destruct sequence! There’s a manual override!” Before I could reach for it, Prime spun me around and pinned me against the glass of a gestation tank. A half-formed enhanced wolf floated inside, inches from my face. “Watch,” Prime whispered. “This is what you will become.” Then the entire facility shook like something was about to pull it off its foundations. And it wasn't coming from us but from something outside.

And then turned to leave— But the door didn't budge. A voice boomed through the speakers. "Hello, Sierra." She stood still. Cassian and I glanced at each other. Roman Creed's voice. "You aired this for the board. But you also sent it to me." Sierra’s face went pale. “I know everything,” Roman continued. “You’re finished.” “No—” she hissed, running to the control panel. But it was too late. Footsteps thundered above. Explosions rocked the compound. Sirens. Screams.

It sat squarely in the center of the irradiated deserts of the North American continent. "And the capital," Kara whispered. "Sector Prime, USA Wastes. This is where the distress beacon was ultimately routed. It is the Global Command Hub. It houses the Prime Administrator—the master AI that controls the localized Admins. If the regional Admins are regional managers, the Prime Admin is the CEO. And we just burned down one of its branch offices." Ren stared at the four pulsing red dots. The sheer scale of the enemy was paralyzing. "They know we're here," Ren said, his tactical mind overriding the exhaustion that threatened to pull him under. "How long until they mobilize a retaliation fleet?"

“She betrayed him. By sacrificing her own life for the protection of a child who can regain the balance of things. Sierra is a seer and a witch, yes, she has powers unlike any wolf, but they are not strong like a warrior… They are useful in ways of protection on a small scale, and she has abilities to control certain aspects of others. She’s a healer, not a fighter, and she did what she thought could make a difference.”
