The King's Queen
"We both know you wouldn't have done that. You and I both know you two planned to ruin my relationship."
Sophia's expression hardens, a flash of anger in her eyes. "And you and I both know you don't deserve him. You're not fit to be queen."
I close the cabinet with a decisive thud and turn to face her. "Then why is he still with me? Not because I'm fit to be queen, but because he loves me."
For a moment, Sophia is silent, her confidence wavering.
"Exactly," I continue, "now try apologizing, and this time, mean it."
