Becoming Blue
Alex noticed the shift in his expression and reached for the phone, but Blue snatched it up first, shoving it into his pocket.
"Who was that?" Alex demanded, his voice sharp now.
"No one," Blue lied too quickly, and Alex caught it.
"Don’t do that," Alex warned, stepping closer until their faces were inches apart. His voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. "Don’t lie to me, Blue. Not now. Not after everything."
Blue’s pulse hammered in his ears. His world was collapsing faster than he could hold it together. And for the first time, he wondered if maybe he couldn’t run from this anymore—if maybe, just maybe, it was time to let the truth out, even if it destroyed them both.
