"Alright! Now that we're all here, let's get started. We're playing Truth or Dare." He pulled out a beer bottle, explaining the rules. "Spin the bottle, and when it stops, anyone the bottle's mouth points to can choose the person the bottle's tail points to, and ask a Truth or Dare question." The first round began. The bottle spun and landed. The mouth of the bottle pointed to Trish, while the tail pointed to Stanley.

My stomach twisted, but I knew there was no escaping it. The first few rounds were harmless. Dumb dares. Embarrassing truths. Somebody had to run to the mailbox shirtless, another admitted to peeing in the pool last summer. But soon, the dares got sharper. “I… haven’t.” I didn't even know what it was. Jake gawked at me. “Seriously?” Chris muttered something under his breath, but I didn’t catch it. “Well,” Jake clapped his hands together, “we’re playing now.” I shifted uneasily. “How does it work?” Jake's grin didn’t falter. “Simple. Someone asks you ‘truth or dare.’ If you pick truth, you have to answer a question — no lies. If you pick a dare, you have to do whatever the person says. No backing out.”

While waiting for Vittorio and not paying attention to the ongoing events, I jumped as I felt a tap on my shoulder. "It's your turn, Deirdre. Truth or dare?" Leslie asked. "W-what?" I frowned.
