He leaned back slightly, folding his arms with unsettling ease.
“Kade,” he said quietly. “Brother to Theoreon.”
The air left my lungs.
Brother?
I did not know Theoreon had a brother. I had never heard whispers of one, never seen him by his side during executions or gatherings. But then again, what did I know? I was nothing but a prisoner here. A captive. Why would anyone inform me of royal bloodlines?
Still, the knowledge sent a chill down my spine.
“Get out,” I said immediately, stepping back as though his presence alone contaminated the air. “If you are his brother, then get away from me.”
