Edeline Two Years and Six Months Later The lake shimmered under the sunlight, like someone had sprinkled a million diamonds across the surface. I stared out at the waterfall just beyond the southern wall of the lake, a soft sigh slipping from my lips. So many memories lived behind that cascade. Not just the night we got engaged or the first time Percival and I truly became one—but all those little secret escapes we snuck in during the two years after the twins were born. The world narrowed until only Evelyn existed. Twenty years. Twenty years of absence. Twenty years of forgetting. Twenty years of searching without realizing she was searching. “You left."

Everywhere was pulsating with a lively, energetic air. "Cheers!" Leanna said with a big smile on her face. "To our new lives!" "To our new lives," Gwyneth echoed, a smile playing on her lips. Sunlight fell on her face, warm and bright. She had finally become the person she'd wanted to be. As for Graham, memories of him had long since faded away, like dust in the wind.

Twelve years of history, wiped clean. I signed the Pack Severance Pact. Didn't hesitate for a second. At the entrance of the Pack Hall, Callum blocked my path. He takes me by the waist while he tells me with his hoarse and seductive voice, “Happy twenty years of knowing each other, dear.” My smile freezes as I realize I just screwed up. I completely forgot that today marks twenty years since that time in the park. I just manage to say awkwardly, “T–thank you, my love. S- same for you.” Matt looks at me very amused, raises an eyebrow, saying, “You forgot!” “What? No! of course not!” “A-ha... It’s a good thing that I know you like the back of my hand. I knew you would forget it.”
