“Darling, if you marry me, you might just take me there yourself.” I grabbed the nearest object to throw, but he caught my wrist, pulling me close, his breath warm against my face. "Think carefully, Bella," he murmured, his grip tightening just enough to make my pulse race. "You might not like me, but I'm still your best option." I glared at him, my heart pounding. I would rather burn in hell than be trapped in his twisted game.

I replied biting back the emotions threatening to cover my face. " Bella, you know you can always take your time on these things. You can..." Lia tried to console me, Lia’s hand on my shoulder felt foreign, like an old comfort I had outgrown. I used to melt under that warmth. Now, it only burned. " It is Rose, not Bella anymore. " I corrected, removed her hand on from my shoulder and left. My appetite was ruined when she called that name. I was no longer her but Lia won't understand.

"You said... she. How do you know it's a she?" Her smirk widened, pride gleaming. "Because I saw Bella this afternoon. Outside the salon." Every nerve in my body jolted. "You saw her?" She felt vulnerable and exposed, as if he could see into her very soul. Bella managed to speak, her voice slightly shaky. "Hi, you must be Zayn." She reached out her hand for a handshake. Zayn folded his arms, looking down at her. "How'd you know that? Is it some kind of spell you're doing right now?" Bella scoffed, withdrawing her hand. "Oh, please. There's no such spell. I just assumed you were the one." She felt a little offended by Zayn's assumption that she was using magic to figure out his identity.

He should have verified before answering Bella’s question. Bella seemed to hesitate on the other end. “She was with me last night, Sir, but not for long. She left in an online taxi after learning that I was heading back to Manhattan,” Bella replied, her voice sounding slightly uncertain. “C-could something have happened to her? Could the taxi driver have done something bad to her?” she blurted out in a panic, and immediately, Antony felt a surge of worry. But then, he heard a tapping sound. “Ah, I think I know now, Sir,” Bella said calmly. “Last night I thought it was strange, but now I understand what Claire meant.” She continued, her tone returning to normal.

I could feel the air from his nostrils touching the strands of my hair. "Bella," Marcel said softly. I didn't answer him, nor did I open my eyes to turn to look at him. One of his warm hands touched me. Immediately, my eyes opened. "Don't touch me," I said angrily. "I'm staying here with Alpha Dragos." I walked over to our pup that was sound asleep. Marcel stared sadly at me. "Why are you treating me this way now, Bella?" Marcel asked, seeming to be confused by my strange actions toward him.

She had always just assumed that the twins had the normative wolf experience, from Darian's inability to control himself in his beastform to Victor's inability to leave his. Her reassurance seemed to be enough. Hunter turned and disappeared after the others in a white flash of fur. Bella lingered for a moment, looking at the clothes on the ground. I shake her hand and smile, “Audrey Jasper.” She nods, “Yes, Daniel told me I needed to meet his best friend.” I grin at Daniel, and he loops his arm in both of ours, “So, why are you here Bella?” Daniel asks her. “To win him back.” She admits. The wind blows and I smell the familiar scent again from this morning that was all over Terry. I don’t know whom she is talking about, but Bella is a 10- I’m sure she will. “You broke his heart. I don’t think that’s possible.”

The rest of the morning was a write-off for Bella. Actually, "recovery" wasn't even in her vocabulary anymore. She had officially transitioned from a functioning human being into a glitching NPC. The second Lisa’s lips left hers and the girl walked away, Bella froze in the center of the courtyard. She looked like she’d been struck by lightning, but instead of electricity, she was surging with pure, unadulterated panic. I waited five seconds. Then I snapped my fingers right in front of her nose.

What had Bella become? The ground beneath us trembled, and a gust of wind whipped through the training grounds. I watched as Bella's hair danced in the invisible current, her eyes fixed on the swirling light in her hand. She had always been strong-willed, but this newfound power was something else entirely.
