An older man visited the prince’s palace and asked for food and shelter, but the prince didn’t give it to her because of her appearance, and the old beggar cursed him. The old beggar is a fairy. He made an apology, but it was too late. The fairy punished him for his heartlessness. The fairy turned him into a frightening creature. The fairy gave him an enchanted rose that would flourish just as he turned 21.
