Twisted Embrace
She was holding a packet of white powder, the same one she had tried to use on my food at lunch.
"What is that?" I asked.
But I already had a pretty good idea of what it was. It was something that would make me her daughter forever. If I drank it, I would go blind for good.
She didn't answer. Rainwater leaked through the crack, soaking her hair so that it stuck to her face, making her look disheveled.
But by looking at her, I knew I looked even worse out here.
The woman gave a twisted smile. "If you won't drink it, then just die out in the rain."
