Still, she would recover faster if you marked her.” I frown at his suggestion, my brows pulling together. “I understand you don’t want to force her hand,” he continues before I can object. “But under these circumstances, she would surely understand.” “You told me she’s already getting better,” I answer firmly. He nods but keeps his expression grave. “She is, but she’s far from safe. Forsaken bites are unpredictable. They can look stable one moment, and the next, everything collapses.” His eyes drift toward Velara, filled with worry he doesn’t voice aloud.
