Instead, I moved into a very small apartment in the southern part of the city. The place only had two rooms. The windowsill was narrow, and the kitchen was small. Compared to the Newman estate, it looked shabby, like a completely different world. However, on the first night I slept there, I slept more peacefully than I had in the past five years. The next day, I went to the hand clinic I had already scheduled. The doctor removed the brace and examined me again before finally telling me with regret that the old injury in my right wrist had been delayed for too long. Although the bones had healed, the nerve and tendon damage would be very difficult to fully reverse.

"Nothing substantial, Amanda. Just some signs of tampering with our security systems. It was clearly orchestrated to distract us." I could feel the anger rising again, the frustration of being outsmarted gnawing at me. "This is unacceptable," I said, my voice shaking with the effort to keep it under control. "We cannot afford to be this vulnerable. From now on, I want increased patrols and tighter security measures. No one enters or leaves our territory without my explicit permission." The guards nodded, their faces serious. Marcus spoke again, his tone apologetic. "We failed you, Alpha. It won't happen again. We'll ensure our defenses are impenetrable."

“We get hungry easily. Besides, the duck tastes great today. It smelled really delicious earlier. Did you change your recipe?” Well, in fact, they did. “This is extra special. We used more spices on some of the food today.” “Why don’t you normally use more? This tastes so much better.” Drew also recognized the change. “It doesn’t always work that way, and most people’s taste buds are average. They prefer mild spices.” She carefully explained. Drew’s eyes suddenly lit up and he exclaimed, “Dad! You’re early.” He waved him over. Since they were sitting opposite Drew, Alena was unable to see the newcomer. I close the page, return back there again and retry, end up on nothing again. I spin it fifteen more times with no luck. It is either rigged or I just have no luck. Sighing, I drop the phone, hoping both of them are safe.
