THE HEIR'S UNWANTED BRIDE
I looked down at page nine, which is where I'd been looking for the best part of three hours, at the three yellow tabs along its edge, the twelve months, the review, and the line about either party withdrawing on thirty days' written notice, which was the first one I'd tabbed and the one I hated most.
"The end date," I said. "Month twelve, a review, thirty days' notice. I've read it forty times and it's a good clause. It's clean. You wrote it clean on purpose and I don't blame you, so let me get to the end before you say anything, because I rehearsed it and I'd like it to come out in order."
"Celeste."
