Romans & histoires U Know The Rules And So Do I

I stand resilient in the endless flashing of cameras. “Good luck,” I tell him graciously, then rethink it. Maybe this is like theater, where wishing someone good luck is bad luck. “Break a leg. Or a dick.” Gah, that doesn’t sound right. “There’s more,” he says after a pause, during which I berate myself for being the most awkward person ever. “We have some rules.” “Rules. Like… no rebounds?” “Rules for you.” I sit up straighter, not sure what to say.

I asked. His mouth opened. Closed. Nothing. “You don’t know?” I said, louder. More laughter now. The tables behind him were shaking from it. He looked like he wanted to disappear. “Rule number one,” I barked, “is that an Alpha knows his damn laws. Rule number two, he doesn’t cower like a kicked pup. And rule number three…” I leaned in, “he earns his place.” I grabbed his tray. His eyes widened. “Wait,” he whispered.

Their leader whom I guess said "Uhmmm, it Cheryl, I just said it like right now," "It obvious she don't know the rules," one of her minions said "I see, well look here ugly bitch, these are the rules." she begins, while I pick silently on my nails. "Rule one, Do not talk wherever I am-" I cut her off saying "I'm kinda hungry can we deal with the rules later plsss," I said holding my both palms together in a pleading manner, and now she looks like a mad lion.

I nodded a response. “Are you getting me?!” “Yeah,” “Good, now the first rules is…” I already know my job is done, am done working for miss Del, I mean me and rules are also enemies, like eternity enemies because I don’t know how to abide with them, and they don’t know how to stay in either my head or brain. Rules can we please be friends? Plssss!…. Anticipate and review. Till. Next. Time (your thoughts matters tho)

"Stop pestering me, Jason. Don't make me despise you even more." The almighty Mr. Brown finally showed a look of utter defeat, forced to watch helplessly as Nathaniel and I walked hand in hand into our future. He knew this time, I would never look back.

I have just one rule, Jasmine. Right here and now, I froze on the soot, a bit anxious about what his rules might be. "A golden rule, that you must NEVER break.”

Inayat smiled warmly and cupped her cheek. “I know, Aabroo.” Her voice was soft. “There’s a fire inside you that only burns when man-made rules try to cage what’s right. And that fire — don’t ever let it go out.” She glanced over her shoulder. “And I’m sure Raj meant no harm.” A smile bloomed on Aabroo’s lips. “Thank you for understanding me.” Inayat kissed her cheek. “Ah, you’re my daughter, my love.” She brushed her fingers gently down Aabroo’s arm. “Now go to bed. It’s late, and you’ve had enough fire for one night.”

I looked across the entire room. “And one more thing. Everyone standing here tonight, remember this. The Leon family can replace a district boss. It can replace drivers, lawyers, mistresses, accountants, and even the groom at a wedding. But the rules do not change. Anyone who tries to use this family as a ladder to climb up the ranks, I’ll break their legs.” This time, every single person lowered their head. I knew this fight was far from over. The real retaliation would begin tomorrow. However, I had been waiting for this day for far too long.

If ze was laying a trap for her, then she was going to lay one down for hir, too. “Sounds good to me,” she replied slyly. “And the rules are, hmm… No holds barred. Winner takes all. And definitely no messing up the planet in our wake.”

Always blinking. I was learning his rules. But he was learning mine too. I don’t break. I don’t beg. And I don’t belong to anyone. Not even for 363 days.
