In the hallway, Lilith looks around before entering the room that used to belong to Egil's mother, where she opens a small secret panel in the closet that leads to a smaller room from where she can see, through a fake mirror, everything that happens in her cousin's room. This is not the first time she has done this, and surely won't be the last. She discovered this place years ago, when she was searching for some things, and stumbled upon this spot, which became her favorite place to spy on Egil's nights. She watches as Ana obediently walks up to Egil. She can't hear very well what he says to her, but he stands up and they start passionately kissing until the young woman, after a few minutes

Though we used to call it a ‘village’, it was as lavish and extravagant as our capital city. Red lanterns and colourful festoons were decorating the path as it parted into three alleys. Pointing at the middle one, I explained, “This one leads to the temple ground where they worship their tribal goddess, Lilith. She is the goddess of darkness and magic as you know.
