I asked Ikea almost as soon as we walked through the door to our guest room. “Not much,” Ikea sighed, loosening the scarf she had around her neck and tossing it to the nearest sofa. “I do know the legend that surrounds the crest though.” I rubbed my forehead, slightly disappointed by her answer. “So what is the legend?” “Well…” Ikea sank into the sofa she tossed her scarf on, “...what I know of it is that the crest was given to the very first Alpha King, King Avidacus, by the moon goddess as a gift. He cherished it so much that he wanted it to be buried with him after his death.”

Now that one of them is staring right back at me, I can't help but question if this is something from my missing memories. But this is the first time I've been to this house. And the crest I see in my nightmares is the same, same design, just smaller and darker. "Camille?" I steady my thoughts and look back at Ehlga. Maybe I could ask her about the crest. "Ehlga, that crest over there." I point to it. "Can you tell me about it?" "Of course. It's one of the Butyrskaya family crests." "Butyrskaya?" I don't know anybody by that name and I've never heard of them either. "Were they part of the Knights?"

Now it sat unlocked and waiting. She opened the lid. Inside, nestled in dark velvet, lay a brooch—no, a crest. A symbol she didn’t recognize. It bore the image of a wolf entwined with a moon, its eyes twin rubies. The metal shimmered faintly with a strange energy, ancient and unknowable. “What is this?” Liora’s lips curved into a weak smile. “Your birthright.” Rhea’s brows drew together. “I don’t understand. This isn’t the Bloodmoon crest.”

ELIZA’S POV The sun filtered through the leaves as I led them through the path that opened to the estate's central courtyard. My voice was steady even though I was still angry at Isabella’s words. But I refused to let her throw me off. Not now. "This crest here," I said, pointing toward carving on the archway above us, "dates back to the Second Era. You’ll notice the intertwined serpent and flame motif. It was often used by noble families who had ties to both the Elemental and Shadow clans. But what’s most fascinating is that this specific design only appears in a handful of manuscripts. One in particular—the Fourth Edition of The Northern Chronicle."

The silver crest that once bound the packs now lay shattered at its base, its fragments gleaming faintly under the morning sun. I picture him outside in the snow, coat collar up, not looking back. My chest hurts. He was supposed to protect me, not trade me like a bag of coins. I feel small, alone, cold without his hand, even if that hand only ever hurt. We stop in front of one box. A small lamp on the wall gives dim yellow light. I look at the door. My breath catches in my throat. A crest is carved deep in the wood. Black wolf. Snow around its paws. Stars above its head. The Morozov crest. Even a child knows it. Even I know it.

I said as she led the way past the apartment blocks and over to a huge building. The pack ground was huge, although it lacked that homely touch that we would see back home with young pups running around or the occasional garden outside certain houses, it was still an impressive pack. He even had a pack crest. Damn… I smiled as I looked at it; two wolves, ready to attack, a moon with a crown between them and three claws running across the entire crest. I ran my finger over it and smiled. I had seen this same crest somewhere else... but I couldn't place where I had. It was beautiful…

I wanted the tip to be sharp enough to slice through armour plated steel. A symbol appeared in my mind. It looked like a crest. It looked like a wolf standing proudly, exuding an aura of authority. The floor the wolf stood on was adorned with blooming flowers and foliage. At the base of the crown lay a shield and it had the four elements in its design. A crown was resting at the wolf's head, carved with designs of the moon. I added the image of the crest to the arrow before I materialised them. I made six all at once. I unconsciously add the crest to my already designed bow.

I pleaded. "Then explain this? Explain why the Silvercrest pack found your father's beta crest in the Nightingale pack. The beta crest, as we all know, is a symbol of authority, and it does not leave the owner's side at any time unless you have given it out," the alpha announced. "Do you have anything to say for yourself?" The alpha demanded, and my father sighed.

And pinned to the lapel was a crest she’d never seen before. Half a crown. Half a dagger.
