I finished 'Ugly Love' last night and yeah, the ending packs a punch. For those wanting spoilers: Tate and Miles finally get their act together after his brother dies. The whole book is about Miles being emotionally destroyed by his first love, Rachel, who died with their unborn baby in a car accident. He pushes Tate away because of the trauma, but she eventually gives him an ultimatum to deal with his past or lose her.
He finally reads Rachel's letters she wrote for their son before she died, which helps him grieve. The epilogue jumps six years ahead, and they're married with a daughter named Capri. Miles is fully healed, a loving husband and dad. It's a full-circle, happy-ever-after ending, though some might find Miles's turnaround a bit fast after all that brooding. I cried at the letters, not gonna lie. The closure felt earned, even if the journey to get there was messy.
