Love that heals

It was a cool sunny morning, SUV parked, “COZY” by Beyonce Blasting my ears off, I felt the stares, the whispers were loud despite the music, dancing eyes moving around my body like I was some kind of TV, I saw the waves of hands, the smiles, the despising eyes but I didn’t care. 

I walked in unbothered, settled, and more confident in my skin than ever, My cat-walk was in alignment with my song.

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!, a voice louder than my song screamed and I knew who that was. Georgina, my childhood bestie, G! (As I call her) And I go wayyy back, from our first interaction in the “donators ball” in the city hall, we have been an unstoppable duo, my literal ride or diee, her beautiful brown eyes and her curls and her physique that screams BROWN QUEEN makes her ethereal, oh!!! I’d wife her if I were a man!!!!!!

I removed my plugs and smiled back at her, we shared a hug. Your outfit looks Adorbs Zuri!! Georgia says, you really are this school’s biggest fashion star, No one comes close, I chuckled as her compliment made my heart feel warm. Plusssssssss welcome to Senior year!!!! We both screamed, she brings out a little box out of her bag, she hand them over to me and I pull out a card that says “To Well-Wood high Most intimidating Bitch” I chucked and drag out a cute pendant from her brand, ‘your new collection!! I screamed and she gives me a hug, and says if there’s anyone that deserves it before anyone else it’s you! 

As we walk down the hallway, the eyes follow me , I wish I could be her, I heard a freshman say, she’s not even that deep I heard another person say, I didn’t care that much, I walked with carriage and wore a smile on my face (until I saw a 6’5 blonde headed demon walk towards me) Oh he’s dating Stacy Newman now, G said, I frowned as I saw the 5’3 demonstress hold hands with him and a cackle that could make my ears bleed. He didn’t even wait for 6 months, I said in frustration, as the fragrance of his cologne felt closer, I got reminded of how I used to have the stench of that fragrance all over me at some point, I had memories of how I would steal some of his cologne collections and wave it around like the boss lady that I am I got reminded of my past with Mason Kendall Jones.

My Ex boyfriend, Blue eyes, sexy physique and structured face and a smile that highlights all his facial features. Mason and I started dating in Freshman year and we broke up at the end of our junior year, he is the Captain of the Basketball team, hottest guy in school and this “hottest guy in school” should be given well-wood’s biggest man child!

Stacy Adrianna Newman, my dad always wanted stacy and I to be friends due to the fact that her father is a big investor in our company, but we never really clicked, she was unnecessarily bossy and insecure, dumb at everything except boys, gossip and beauty trends, she had eyes on Mason since 6th grade, they never dated until now. 

I paused and turned back lost in thoughts of regrets and a little affection I never admitted till now, G dragged me to the class, I entered and as usual the whispers and eyes danced around me. Of course it would be good, I said to myself. I am Zuri Campari Banks, Senior in Well-Wood high, Captain of the dance club, a social media influencer and model, I am the second half of the Banks twin dynasty.

Everyone admires my family but I’m not like my family, our aesthetics are different, which some might say makes my brand stand out from my family’s and while some might think I’m disrupting my family’s minimalist brand but I sincerely don’t care, I rather have my own world and identity than fit in. 

Guess who decided to Grace the class today with her presence, Mr Washington said, He is our Literature teacher, Average height, chubby with a full smile that showcases his 32 teeth, I loveeeee Mr Washington, he has been one of my biggest supporters from my content to my school legacy, he is a big fan who I can say is my friend. Hi! Mr. Washington, it feels good being in your class again I said softly. And you are welcome to Senior year Zee he said back. You see senior year is like no other he continued, the unexpected happens, this is the moment you define the next era of your life and what you do now will either make or mare you, you would need to be wise, but you would also need to have fun, make new friends, discover new things about you, enjoy the last years of being a TEENAGER, have meaningful plot twist, know who you are and what you choose to stand for you be vocal about it. I hope you all make wise decisions this year, and like I always say…….. “it is never too late to start again” the whole class chanted. There’s a way Mr Washington speaks that enlightens the soul, and sincerely I can’t wait to see what senior year brings, junior year ended with a lot of drama and cries, I spent the summer healing from what I thought was love and I hope I don’t fall in love senior year, this is the time to actually know what I want for myself moving forward.

Lunch time is the school’s social gathering place, we have the different cliques with their own hierarchical structures, the early birds, they come to school earlier than everyone, eat earlier than everyone literally does everything earlier than everyone, we have the beast boys, that never forget to showcase how cringe they can be, the nerds, the gossip girls led by Stacy obviously, you want to know what happens 5 minutes ago, ask them they know every detail to its last bit, the siren songs, my clique, well, Ex-Clique, we never really had a name, but rumor has it that we are called the VISSIONARIES, I don't know if it's the same people I was once friends with or not that are referred to as ‘revolutionary’ but there's nothing admirable about them, from a beauty, lustful and influential standard stand point YES, they are visionaries, but otherwise, they are jerks disguised in expensive clothing.
