~MARCELLA~ I don’t even hesitate. I start unbuttoning my shirt slowly and deliberately. One button… Two… And just like I expected…. “Jesus—!” Lucas shuts his eyes so fast it’s almost impressive. I burst out laughing. Not just a small laugh, no… I laugh hard. Full-on, uncontrollable laughter, clutching my stomach as I bend forward slightly. “You didn’t even try!” I gasp between laughs. “Lucas, you didn’t even last two seconds!”

A sound. It started low, growling deep in Clarkson's chest, like thunder off in the distance. It was staccato and jagged, as if whatever device produced it hadn't been employed for some time and was a trifle rusty. His shoulders shuddered once, unspoken. He brought his hand up to his lips, fingers wrapped around his mouth, but it came too late. The sound escaped. It was a sudden, sharp, incredulous burst of laughter. It was not the polished, social smile he had used at political benefit dinners. This was raw, unedited, and totally unplanned. It was the look of uncontrolled, wild laughter bursting through a permafrost of self-discipline.

I laughed for minutes, my shoulders shaking, the sound coming out wrong, like I didn’t even know why I was laughing anymore. I tried to stop but I couldn’t. The more I laughed, the more it hurt. “They are not yours, Drew… no… no…” I shook my head repeatedly laughing in pain.

I ground out through clenched teeth. Marcus paused for a second, and then a barely restrained snicker came through the phone. That snicker quickly turned into full-blown laughter, loud and unfiltered, like water breaking through a dam. He was laughing uncontrollably, and there was no mistaking the sheer, outright mockery in it.

The laugh cut off instantly. I frowned, leaning forward on the sofa. Glitch, I told myself. Just a compressed audio error. I unpaused it. The movie continued, but the laughter returned a few seconds later, layered underneath the dialogue. It was mocking, a rhythmic he-he-he that seemed to pulse with a life of its own.

A single laugh escaped him. We both ended up crying, we were laughing so hard. He fell off to the side of my body. "This isn't funny, Willow Koa. I've never embarrassed myself like that in my life." My laughter turned into howls as my stomach muscles cramped. He threw a pillow over my face. "Shut up, cupcake. You're so fucking loud." I wrapped my arms around the pillow, smooshed it against my mouth. I tried to get my laughter under control. I felt like a volcano had erupted inside me and it was spewing hilarity and mirth all over. It was legitimately just bubbling out of me.

Charles looks between Richie and me, the color draining from his face. The seriousness etched on his features tells me he knows something crucial, but he’s clearly trying to keep it hidden. He holds onto his serious expression for just a moment longer before he suddenly erupts into laughter… again. The sound echoes throughout the room, filling every corner with his boisterous mirth. His eyes squint shut, and I can see the way his body shakes with each burst of laughter as if he’s losing his grip on reality. I can see the sheer energy radiating from him; it’s not just a simple laugh—he’s howling, practically screaming with joy. It infuriates me, making me feel like a complete fool as he mocks

I knew it was a destructive path, but for now, it was the only one I could bear. "Hahaha!!!" I suddenly burst out. I couldn't subdue the uncontrollable laughter that erupted from my very core. The drug had seized my senses and flung them into a whirlwind of hysteria. Adrian, unsure of the reason behind my amusement, couldn't help but join in my laughter. Tears welled up in my eyes as I guffawed, unable to explain the absurdity of it all. Adrian's trembling voice cut through the cacophony. "Your Majesty, what's so funny?"

The laughter was beyond me now, pulling me under like a wave. It tore through me, wild and uncontrollable, my body shaking as I clutched my chest. Wheezes slipped out between gasps for air. Fat tears began streaming down my cheeks, leaving hot, wet trails as I laughed and cried all at once. I tried to stop, tried to rein it in, but every attempt only made me laugh harder. My reflection blurred in the mirror as the tears thickened, but still I couldn't stop. "No, no, no, no, Tina..." I muttered between gulps of laughter, shaking my head violently. "This can't be happening..." The words came out broken, punctuated by giggles and sobs alike.

But it seems like she couldn’t help herself and she went into an uncontrollable laughing fit. “This is hilarious! You actually block out everything! Forgetting your past and pretending you don’t know anything! So fucking pathetic!” She was shaking with laughter at what I just and looked like she was going to fall out of her seat. At her laughing, the other two Aurelia started to laugh with her but their expression didn’t change. They had nothing on their face as they laughed along with her. I felt like I was being drowned in laughter as they continued to laugh at me. It was horrible and I wanted them to stop laughing at me. Why are they laughing?! I want them to stop! Make them stop!
