I joshed bitterly and Dome just stared at me with a somewhat sad expression. "Over there," he pointed at the two-seater sofa placed against a wall in front of my bed. "He slept there every night. He only went home to pack some stuff and then come here again. That if he needed to take a lot of stuff. But mostly, he stayed here all the time watching you and just letting us take his stuff from home. He never one hundred per cent returned to the mansion yet," Dome explained and I was taken aback by that information.

Dominic: Ughhhh. Me: I'm I heavy. Dominic: no, not at all. Was just a bit uncomfortable. Me: so I make you comfortable? Dominic: maybe, maybe not. I laughed and grabbed the remote. Me: what do you want to watch? Dominic: Anything to be honest. Me: what about finding Nemo. Dominic: yeah that's fine. I started the movie and laid on his chest. Me: what are you going to do about Lisa? Dominic: I don't know to be honest, because I found out she has been fucking with the leader of the Irish mafia. That could mean she was giving them information on us, that's why i arranged to move to another house tomorrow.

[One Week Later, National Tv] Dominic is live. In his faded clothes, sickly appearance, his parents behind him, and Finn in his arms. He's live on TV. Massimo ordered him to shove his face into the TV and have a confession session before he'd be let go, and he's doing just that. Finn was squirming in his arms, so he had to stand, petting him with a slow dance before he looked into the cameras again.

Moments later, I had picked up my phone, pressed the secure button, and typed: “Stay obedient as always. And be safe.” I didn’t expect a reply. She never texted unless told to. I liked it that way. The voice croaked from the bunk below him. “Yeah.” “Shit’s going to hit the fan at the chow hall this morning.” He sighed quietly. “I know.” “You staying clear?” Dom sat up and swung his legs over the edge of the bunk. “Going to try to.” The bed frame rocked as the man below him moved to get up. “I’ve got your back if you watch mine.”

The city skyline loomed in the distance, glittering like a thousand lies dressed up as promises. Dominic pulled the car into the underground parking garage beneath one of his private properties — a building I hadn’t even known he owned. It was sleek, discreet, the kind of place you used when you didn’t want anyone to know you were hiding something—or someone. We climbed out, moving fast. Dominic kept the duffel bag tight to his side, glancing over his shoulder like he expected the League to crash through the concrete walls at any second.

The shockwave ripped outward, instantly obliterating the wooden chairs, the iron chains, and the flickering fluorescent bulb, plunging the entire underground facility into a terrifying, dust-choked darkness. In that final split second before the ceiling collapsed, Dominic’s massive 6'4" frame slammed down over her petite five-foot body in the narrow drainage trench. He became a literal human shield, his broad, corded shoulders absorbing the violent impact of falling debris, shattered brick, and burning concrete dust.
