She staggered forward, leaning against the trees, trying to recover from whatever that was. And then she saw them. Shane was a bit ahead, but Selena couldn't see what he was doing, because there was a tree on the way. She took a few steps to her right side, still hidden, and her legs failed when she saw Lucas. He was lying on the floor with Shane's claws inside his chest. Exactly where his heart was. And the pain she was feeling was like his claws were inside her heart instead, tearing down every single artery. How was that possible?

There was a small table with a button on it off to the far side of the enclosure. Trees and shrubs hid the metal fencing, but they were done in such a way that it felt like she was out in the middle of the woods rather than just off the side of a hotel.
