Under The Oak Tree Novel Wattpad Novels & Stories

Its age was estimated to be hundreds of years, standing tall on their property long before Dana had moved in. But Sophia wanted to visit it with Albert. She refused to go alone. She had heard that oak trees were considered sacred. Wouldn’t it be lovely? Sophia also thought the tree could inspire her as she worked on her current novel. Her laptop sat open in front of her, yet she lacked the motivation to write. Her phone buzzed with a notification. Sophia eagerly grabbed it, her heart racing with anticipation, but her face fell upon seeing the sender’s name. It wasn’t who she had hoped for.

“After she kicked Mom and me out, we searched for a place to stay. “That’s when we overheard Sophia talking with her cousin. It turns out the accusation of Grandpa being raped was all their scheme. “To stop me from defending Grandpa and interfering with their huge compensation payout… they plotted this. They made Mom and me go to Moonlake with Sophia, so I couldn’t help Grandpa. “Everything… It was her design. That day, she even pretended to be regretful, keeping Mom and me there. It was all planned…” Ethan’s voice broke as he revealed the truth. “Mom flew into a rage and confronted her, but Sophia just grinned, asking Mom what she could do to her?

The white tree was there too, smaller now, but still standing. A pup asked him: “Were the old wolves stupid? To fight over trees?” Oka laughed. “No, baby. They were brave. They taught us that choice isn’t between right and wrong. It’s between different kinds of right.” “What kind are you?” the pup asked. Oka looked at his moon. Pink, with one white spot. “I’m a Thorn who takes naps under white leaves. What kind are you?” The pup thought hard. “I’m both too.”

she asked for the third time, curiosity evident on her face. “Be patient, my dear,” I replied with a smile. “Just a few more minutes.” “You know I'm not good at being patient.” “Oh, I'm well aware,” I laughed. “Remember when you were waiting for the results of the Elder Council's test? You paced for three hours.” “That's different!” she protested. “That was about our future as—” She stopped as we rounded the last bend and the view spread out before us. A small meadow surrounded by tall trees, with a small river flowing on one side. In the middle of the meadow stood a huge, ancient oak tree—its branches spread wide, creating a perfect natural canopy.

Elara felt a prickle of awe, a sense of being in the presence of something truly extraordinary. They emerged into a small clearing, bathed in the ethereal glow of the moon. In the center, a gnarled oak tree stood sentinel, its branches reaching towards the heavens like skeletal fingers. Beneath its ancient boughs, the ground was carpeted with soft, dewy moss. Kael nudged her gently towards it, a clear invitation to rest.

“I saw her. Mara. Under the Old Oak. She said the Council’s coming tomorrow with silver chains to auction me. She said to come tonight, to the Old Oak, alone. That it’ll hide me.” My mother’s face crumpled. She sank into a chair. “She said that? The Old Oak? God. She told me about that tree when I was little. Said no man could enter its circle. Said if a White ever needed to hide from her own mate, the Oak would hide her.”

Nova smiled. “The Cassie & Damon Legacy Sanctuary.” After the unveiling, the crowd lit candles, one by one, and circled the oak tree like they had for generations. The tree glowed, the roots bathed in gold, the wind wrapping itself around old names and new stories. Grace whispered into the air: “Still us. Always.” Late into the night, Nova sat at the base of the oak tree alone, journal in her lap. She wrote: Tonight, I saw the fire come home.

The oak tree was older than the Hale fortune, its branches gnarled and thick, stretching over the stone wall like reaching fingers. I didn’t think about the physics of it. I didn’t think about the silk-blend sweater or the way the rough bark bit into my palms, scraping away the "pampered" layer of my skin to reveal the girl underneath who used to climb fire escapes to get to the roof of her apartment. I shoved my foot into a notch in the trunk, my breath hitching as a sharp pain bloomed in my side. Not now, I thought, pressing a hand to my stomach. Just a little further.

As we approached the front entrance, I turned to face Rico, "Can we go back to the oak tree again?" "Why? Aren't you hungry?" He asked. "Yes I am but I feel drawn to the tree. I want to say goodnight before I sleep," I answered honestly, despite how weird I sounded. "Okay then, let's go." He said and we walked side by side again to the oak tree. The oak tree stood tall and majestic, its branches reaching out as if embracing the moon above. The air around it felt charged with a certain energy, a quiet strength that resonated deep within me.

“There isn’t one.” “Pity.” Xavier stubbed out the e-cigarette on a nearby coaster. “Look into it anyway. For me.” There was no panic in his tone. No explanation. Just Xavier’s brand of casual apocalypse. He stood, stretched, and nodded once toward Joy. “Cover your neck. Or don’t. I don’t care anymore.” The next morning, Whitmore found another letter. Neatly folded. Untraceable font. > Here is a short story. Once upon a time, a body was buried beneath the oak tree in the woods.
