Pregnant For My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Best Friend

Pregnant For My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Best Friend

In the center stood a giant, ancient oak tree, its branches spreading out like protective arms. "It has a high-tech security system, a gated community, and a twenty-four-hour patrol," Cole listed off the specs, his businessman persona momentarily shielding his vulnerability. "But look at the backyard, Sabrina. Really look at it." "The tree," I whispered, tracing the lines of the oak with my thumb.

In the Grip of king Roderick

The passage of time only deepened their connection, and the historical backdrop of their romance added an air of intrigue and forbidden love. One cool autumn afternoon, as the leaves of the oak tree began to turn shades of fiery red and burnt orange, Roberick found himself struggling to maintain his composure. He couldn't help but think of the inevitable parting that their society dictated. It was a time of great change, with battles waged, and empires rising and falling. The Dark Alpha's Pet

The Dark Alpha's Pet

“CIARA JOY!” If I can’t see her, then I don’t hear her. I thought to myself in a sing-song voice as I reclined cross-legged with my head resting back against the trunk of one of my favorite hiding spots in the woods. Nestled on the east edge of the border of our pack’s land is my favorite oak tree, with thick, wide branches stretching out in all directions high above the rest of the woods. My oak tree also has the most magnificent views of the mountains and surrounding woods which also border on two sides of the Crystal Lake waters. “Miss Ciara Joy Callaway, you better not be up some tree again, or so help me. Goddess. I will tell Alpha Radar and your father you are flapping about again!”

This book should be made into a full on series, a regular book - it’s SO good! I obvs have some editorial comments, but overall it’s a solid world building, great original characters (though all could use a bit more mix of good/bad qualities for a more natural feel). The plot is so good! Recommend!

MY FIRST LOVE

MY FIRST LOVE

The oak tree, under which they would say their vows, stood tall and majestic, its branches providing a natural canopy that seemed to embrace the love that would be declared beneath it. As she and Ethan worked side by side to finalize the preparations, Claire couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder at how everything had fallen into place. The past few months had been a whirlwind—so much had changed, and yet, it all felt perfectly right. She had found her way back to the man she loved, to the town that had shaped her, and to the life she had always dreamed of.

FORCED TO MARRY THE UNLOVABLE ALPHA KING

FORCED TO MARRY THE UNLOVABLE ALPHA KING

I doubled down by crying out, “Would he give you a happy pat on the back if you allow something to happen to his unborn pups due to too much heat?” “No please, go on please. But at least let me escort you to make sure you're safe.” He offered. I bent over and cried out again, adding some convulsive shakes to the drama. “Ah, please just go quickly!” He conceded. I smiled out of the corner of my mouth as I left him. Fool. It wasn't such a long walk before I saw the oak tree described by the note-sender. I couldn't see anyone there. I went closer till I got to the tree itself. I stood there, looking around.

The CEO'S Delicate Wife

The CEO'S Delicate Wife

He said pointing towards an oak tree, with large shades. They didn't respond and closed the door, Morgan, just like he said, went and sat on the metallic bench, under the tree. ****** Olivia sat on one of the chairs in the room, Cherry was already asleep on her laps, after crying several times for mother. Old Gilbert was also fast asleep, his breath heavy and unsteady as his features were extremely pale, showing the extent of his sickness.

The Long-lasting Tree

The Long-lasting Tree

But none of them felt composed and willing to take up the challenge of starting the task. Okayo stood still, feeling a cruel and urging incitement towards accepting the challenge. He remembered the words of his grandmother long ago: "One day, you will be a great leader, my grandson. When that time comes, remember this, a true leader is him who saves his people." Then he also remembered how courage had pushed him into doing impossible things in the past. He did not hesitate; he lunged forward and stood very close to the tree. His mother stared at him with a hand on her chest. Watching him stand over there gave her the creeps. "Oh my son!" she let it go with her breath. Okayo remained focused

This book is highly educative. For someone like me who studies cross-cultural communication, I find it quite important. I'm learning a lot concerning the culture of the Luo tribe of Kenya and how they responded to the western culture, religious conflict and quite a lot to do with relationship. ?

A book to pick from the shelf. Felt i was reliving times here, those wonderful moments in the history of a people. The Blue-eyed's intention with the bell and the tree's inexplicable powers are itchy... felt like I just wanted to know it all. This is a five-star novel, can't hesitate to say. ???

Dragon Eclipse

Dragon Eclipse

They walked forward, the blackness all around them when they finally reached a stream, behind the stream was the oak tree, so old and its branches were down to the water. "What is this place?" Genevieve asked and Nathan retorted, "This is where the banshee lives." The tree lifted its branches to the sky as if his very presence was enough to beat back the darkness. His bark was utterly dark. "This is the oldest tree of the world…" Nathan informed her when they heard a raspy voice from behind. "And it's not for you…" turning around, both Nathan and Genevieve saw a woman extremely beautiful, she had white hair which shone in the darkness.

Leesa's Advent

Leesa's Advent

As soon as the car stopped rolling, Dominic gave Leesa a quick thumbs up—the signal they had agreed on that she should proceed as planned. She grabbed the ivory box from her bag and got out of the car. After waiting for a truck to flash by, she hurried across the road and found the spot Dominic had described to her. The old oak tree—almost twice as thick as any of its neighbors—was just barely visible from the highway. Its gnarled branches spread wide in every direction, and Leesa could imagine the huge canopy of shade they would provide when the leaves grew back. She imagined the tree had probably been left standing sometime far back in the past while its neighbors were felled for lumber an

I hit that chapter last night after a long reading session. The whole thing is basically a massive, emotional hangover from the public fight at the banquet in the previous chapter. Maxi’s completely shattered, physically and mentally, just locked in her room replaying every awful thing Riftan said. There’s this heavy, suffocating feeling because she’s utterly convinced he must hate her now.

The key shift is when Riftan finally comes to her. It’s not some grand reconciliation—it’s raw and messy. He’s still furious, but his anger twists into this agonizing confession. He lays it all out: the years of longing, watching her from afar, feeling unworthy. The line about building a palace with his own hands if he thought it would make her look at him just wrecked me. It recontextualizes all his coldness and distance as desperate, clumsy self-protection. He’s been hurting just as much, just differently.

Then he leaves again, and you’re left with Maxi alone, trying to process this bomb he dropped. The chapter ends on that quiet, stunned confusion, which is somehow more impactful than any dramatic resolution. Her whole understanding of their marriage just got flipped.
