My body stopped growing colder by the day. One morning a month later I went with Leon to break ground in a clearing in the hills behind town. When I looked down at the bond mark over my heart, the one that had withered black, a familiar tingling ran through my chest. At the center of the dead mark, a point of green had broken through the dead skin, and a fine young oak shoot had come out of it. "Leon." I touched the shoot, and the tears came at once. I knew he was supposed to be here. Thinking he was yet to come, I sat under the oak tree and waited for him. I kind of see why he liked this place, the cool breeze brushing against my skin was so calming, and the leaves on the oak tree rustled with the wind.
