The celebration ended quietly, almost like it wasn’t a celebration at all. Even though Cecelia and the others tried to make it lively, there was still a slight tension in the air that refused to disappear. “I will go and rest first,” Mitchell said tiredly. Ellie and Alex, Jay's long time friends from school. "Aaaah.... It felt like yesterday we're swinging at the playground..." The tall woman, Ellie, sang out, pretending to wipe a tear off her face. "That was last week." Alex chuckled and kicked the door closed behind them. "Come, come, Hua's over there!" Jay pointed at Hua, and the two women smiled politely at her before they started twerking their way to her like predators and devoured her into a hug. It's not unwelcomed, Hua hugged them back with the best of her abilities. They met once or twice annually over the years, and since Hua was cut off from her family, she met these girls more than she met Jake.

The warm wind sent a shudder of movement in the branches. It was surreal. The sky above them was a clear blue with marshmallow clouds that were drifting lazily to the east.
