REID POV “Remind me again why we’re outside in the snow?” Taryn asks, her arms crossed against the wind, her body bundled up in a dark green down coat, a tan satin lined beanie with flecks of color — like little sprinkles on a cupcake — atop her head to protect her braids. “Because it’s Winter Wonderland Day,” I reply. And because I need you out of the guest suite while hospitality sets up everything for the rest of our day.

After all she is only a friend I made after I came to this palace. “ Emelia, some days later, it will snow. The first snow is very important for werewolves and they consider it romantic. I think you may not know it so I come here to tell you. I wonder if you want to give Cody a surprise since he has treated you pretty well these days.” Betty stares at me. Her eyes look bright for no reason. First snow? Something seems to strike me inside. Snowman, snowballs, a boy and a girl dressed in red running and laughing in white... Should I prepare a snow surprise for Cody?

Winter’s POV My fingers clicked hurriedly through the keyboard. Today was my last day in the office before I go for my finally awaited one-month holiday break. I paused to zoom in on the picture displayed on my laptop, a picture of Nolan Smith, my boyfriend. “Your boyfriend?” A voice breathed near my ear, startling me. My fingers flew to the touchpad, fumbling to close the tab. “It's so nice to be young and in love,” My chief editor, Mrs Quinn, leaned against my desk.

Ice said, poking Snow playfully in the side. "Stop it. I swear I’ll hit you," Snow snapped again, her eyes narrowing at her mischievous sister. "Oh, please. Just admit it already. You’re just too shy to say it out loud. Honestly… if your man’s as handsome and hot as Kuya Demetri, there’s no way you’d survive the night without needing a wheelchair the next morning," Ice teased with a sly smile. Snow quickly smacked Ice on the head for that comment. The teasing didn’t stop. The more Snow told her to stop, the worse it became. Her cheeks turned bright red from embarrassment.

SSHS 138 The next day, there were still no classes due to the build up of snow and the intensive clearing of it. Even the students in the dorms inside the La Florence Academy volunteered themselves to help clear the built up snows everywhere— though most of the students used this opportunity to have a photoshoot for their i*******m accounts or just to better their image in the society— but nonetheless, there was work done and in that very same afternoon, almost all of the snow were cleared from all the roadways and the whole school ground is neat and tidy.

There would be no delivery. I stood up and laughed coldly. “Then stop wasting electricity,” I said. “Save the money and buy some cold medicine instead. You would not want your precious assistant catching a chill in a sixty-degree air-conditioned room. “I quit.” Jessica froze. “You are resigning over something this small? Just because of the air conditioning?”

Probably angry at me for caging their favourite snowball. Snowball. I met Yuna when she was making a snowball with her sister while laughing and throwing snowballs. She loved winters and she specially loved the warmth of the sun after snowfall. And I loved the absolute adoration and spark in her eyes when she looked at the shining snow under the sun. It was rare to see sunlight during heavy snowfall winter season but when she wanted something from this season, it was given to her. That was why she was winter's favourite snowball.

"Guys, the early bird catches the worm." I deny trying to get to the nearest piece of furniture, while I see half of our door, full of snow and how Aninka is looking for a way to wake up guys who only have three hours of sleep. "Come on, they promised to do this. It's our last day together" Aninka complains. "Let them sleep. Look outside, we're practically buried in snow, there are no things to do outside. We can sleep "Really?" asks Aninka looking behind her "It can't be possible. I had a lot of plans today. Besides, today the weather had said it was sunny."

My days were filled, leaving no room for thoughts of the Winters family. I was studying a painting in a gallery when Kirk approached with a grave expression. "Miss, there's something you should know." I set the painting down. "What is it?" "Liam and Neal are looking for you," he replied. "They've sent people here." I paused, then sneered. "What do they want?" Kirk shook his head. "It's unclear, but their efforts are substantial. They may find you soon. Should you lay low for a while?"

"Come on, let's team up against Sandy. I'll help you remove the snow from my car later." I nodded eagerly, accepting his invitation. Our smiles grew wider, filled with playful anticipation. As snowballs flew through the air, we laughed uncontrollably, not caring about getting hit or the coldness surrounding us. "I can't believe you actually hit me!" I exclaimed, brushing off the snow from my coat. "You shouldn't underestimate me," Christopher replied with a smirk, readying his next attack."Go take that!" The snowball battle continued, our laughter ringing through the winter air, as we exchanged playful banter and aimed snowballs at each other. The coldness of the snow was forgotten, replaced
