Hey! Sorry I didn't upload the past TWO weeks... I know... I'm a bad girl. :'( I had to plan our week-long vacation for my kid's birthday vacation. We went and played in snow for the first time! We live in the Sunshine State so snow is a Legendary Rarity. LOL

Shen's voice turned the same, “I see… It’s already a decade since it happened. Time really passed quickly.” “Then, when will Uncle Ben go home?” Kate stopped her steps, making Shen stop too. “2 days before that day, 1 week from now.” she then melancholy looked up the sky, “A snow will gonna fall today, the first snow of the year… and I hate it. It reminds me of that hateful day.” ….…… “Hey, kid its winter and you still want to buy ice cream?” Nikka uttered while standing in the ice cream stand. “And you man, you know it’s already winter yet why you are still selling this,” she complained to the seller. The man looked at her terrified.

Snow was embarrassed but could only hold out her hand to Jared. “Hello Mr. Johnston, I am Snow, Nicole’s cousin. Nice to meet you.” She smiled and fiddled with her hair, trying to impress Jared. No boy at school could resist her suggestive teasing, and she thought Jared was no exception. But Jared just nodded casually. “Nice to meet you.” Snow and Raine tried their entire bag of tricks to impress Jared but hit a wall when Jared snubbed them.

School had commenced normally the next day though, but that one day had been worth it. "I hope it snows this year," said Amy. "That'd be great."

Lacey tells him, before she turns around once more to check on the children. Sunny is staring out the window in delight, seemingly mesmerized by the fat flakes of falling snow. Jack is playing his hand held gaming console once more, but he too keeps casting furtive glances out his window at the snow. Both children love the snow. Sunny finds it magical, how fluffy it looks and how it sparkles in the light. Jack just likes throwing snowballs at people and piling the fresh powder up to make forts or snowmen.

“Something small. Not a big thing. Just something that could make a day better for you.” I froze. Because no one had ever asked me what I liked. I set the spoon down and thought for a long time. At first there was only emptiness in my mind. Then, from very deep, an image surfaced. “Snow,” I said at last, quietly. “I like it when it snows. Because then everything is quiet. And it swallows footsteps. Then… you hear less when they come.” By the end of the sentence I realized it was not the pretty answer he might have wanted. But Zane did not grimace. He did not laugh.

In reality the snow doesn’t really bother us, neither does the cold since we all run hotter than the average human, but we have to maintain the secret so we have to act human in a human dense city. Nickolas has been out to help some of the neighbors keep the sidewalks and driveways shoveled. I don’t think he can help himself, always the protector and caretaker. We’ve been out to help a bunch too, but not nearly as willingly as he is. So we help to fill in the time, otherwise we would die of boredom since we can’t go anywhere.
