He remembered her words and without any thought, he darted out of the roots of the tree. Alex watched in calm as Weaver opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted when the motion of a red blur shot out from underneath the slightly uprooted roots of a tree. Weaver was about to give chase but was stopped by Alex, who gently bit down on his tail. "Do not give chase." Alex said firmly and Weaver pulled his ears to his head but nodded while looking into the direction the red blur had run in.

I recoiled slightly, nose wrinkling as I waved a hand in front of my face. “What the hell is that?” I asked, eyeing the suspicious concoction like it might come alive and eat me. He smirked, setting the bowl down on the vanity in front of me. “Powdered bleach. Gotta lighten your hair first so the pink sticks better. Otherwise, you’ll just end up with a muddy mess.”

I let out a sharp breath and pushed the bedsheet away. “I really thought it was dye, I promise.” I defended myself, though not with much confidence, feeling quite confused. I truly believe that was bleach. I believed it was simply the natural shade of blue that would make it appear whiter. “Take a look,” she said, pulling out the bleach she had brought and opening it for me to see. It is nearly colorless, much like water. I trembled in disbelief; this was worse than anything I had ever experienced.

A cloud of fumes filled her lungs, choking her. She used the sleeve of her blouse as a mask, attempting to filtrate the air. Her eyes burned as she looked over the room. There was an open container of bleach laying on its side, now clearly emptied. The contents had been launched sporadically in every direction. Some of her clothes were speckled with orange and yellow spots where the liquid had bled into the fabric, and in other areas, she could still see where pools had formed on the carpet underneath the clothes from where the chemical had been poured directly onto them. They were all discolored and ruined. Jade backed out of the room and closed the door, gasping for a breath of air.
