"Then explain it to me." His jaw tightened. For a moment I thought he might actually answer. Instead he took a step toward me, and that scent hit me again — cedar, smoke, rain, and that dangerous wildness beneath it all. My wolf stirred restlessly under my skin, and I had to lock my knees to keep from reacting to it. "This mansion is not a palace," he said quietly. "It is not safe. It is not a place for stubborn servants trying to prove a point." I lifted my chin. "I'm not trying to prove a point."

His mansion was exactly as I thought it would be. It was full of dark structures and architecture. He had even stopped by a black jaguar fountain. The mansion itself was a very large, dark-colored mansion designed in a grand, gothic-inspired style. It had multiple floors with tall arched windows, several domed towers, and steep, pointed rooflines. The exterior was symmetrical, with a central section flanked by wings on either side. The mansion was lit warmly from the inside with bright yellow lights, making it easy to make out the building well.

I stare up at the dark and decrepit-looking mansion nestled among the trees of Hoia-Baciu Forest. It’s four-story’s high, and aside from the numerous windows, the structure almost looks like it was carved from a giant rock. It’s built – or likely conjured – from stones of charcoal grey, with spires lining the edges of the roof as if screaming to the world not to touch or come near it. I’ve never looked at a home’s exterior and thought it resembled a living person, but everything about the home Azadou built for himself screams him: dark, scary, isolated and threatening all who come near.

She would find a way to turn the situation to her advantage, no matter the cost. Finally after a long ride, her carriage came to a halt in front of an imposing mansion. The mansion stood tall and majestic, its stone façade adorned with ivy that crept up towards the gabled roof. The windows were large and arched, framed by intricately carved stone, giving the building an air of both elegance and secrecy.

"We're here guys." The bus slowed to a stop. I was the last one out with Axel going ahead of me. The sun was down by now. We were all staring at a white mansion. The design was New England with a touch of ancient Greek here and there. It was the type of place you'd see on a reality show. So we left a mansion, drove for what felt like a lifetime just to get to another mansion where we would be spending the weekend together. What the fuck, Uncle Marshall?

He was really a hard puzzle to crack. It was more than a three hours drive out of the city until we arrived in front of a secluded big beach house. More like a beach mansion. It's painting was exquisite and beautiful and as usual the entire mansion was painted in grey colors. The only exterior part of the mansion that wasn't painted grey were the glass claddings. The design of the mansion was beautiful. The moment we drove past the large tall gates a large pool could be seen in front of the mansion.

As what Makenzie the man said the mansion is a fortress. Rachel is not treated as prisoner, she is free to explore the man made island.The mansion seemed like a big prison cell for her. She is free to moved around but cannot get out beyond the bridge that connect the mansion with the main island.
