I moved closer, trying to catch whatever scent had alarmed him. He handed me the bottle. "Smell it. Carefully." I took a cautious sniff and immediately detected a faint, acidic odor beneath the normal mineral scent of bottled water. Emily recoiled inside me, recognizing the danger before I consciously identified it. "Silver extract," I whispered, my voice trembling slightly. "Someone's laced the water with silver."

Robert asked as he poured me a drink. I downed my drink without responding and poured myself another. Sensing my mood, Robert stayed quiet and just kept drinking with me. "Alright, enough! I'm going to be sick if we keep drinking like this!" Robert finally grabbed my hand to stop me. Through my drunken haze, I looked at him and slurred, "Come on, let's keep going." Robert glared at me. "Hell no! Something's clearly wrong with you today. Spill it. What's bothering you?"

I look around, my pulse pounding frantically as I search for the inspiration for another plan. Suddenly, my eyes land on the bottle of sparkling water in the cup holder and the invisible idea bulb above my head blinks to life. “Aunt, pass the bottle to me, please.” I whisper, nodding at the cup holder. Zuri takes one look at the bottle and her eyes light up with excitement. “Oh, you little daredevil.” She teases. Aunt Ophelia hands the bottle to me and I take a huge gulp of the water… then I pour it all out, pretending like I just puked all the food in my system. The sound is disgusting and quite alarming.

To my dismay, it was even worse. "What the hell?" I mumbled, spitting out the contents. Was everything in here spiked? The bottled water was snatched from my hand before I could check its content, and I looked up to see who had done that. It was Vesper. His brows creased as he stared at the water for a long time, his eyes occasionally meeting mine. Then he sniffed it and gagged. "What the hell?" That was exactly my initial reaction. I wouldn't be surprised if the water in the pool was spiked as well.

Sterilization Protocol The hiss was the sound of the world ending in micro-droplets. Nah poisons are usually violet or vile green. When only a few teaspoons of the liquid remained, I stopped to admire the perfectly-shaped bottle, and on searching found that he possessed many such beautiful containers. I looked at my discarded backpack and brought two of fingers to my forehead in concentration. "You are beautiful too." A telepathic message was sent. "Don't tell me you drank that." He sat up with a sigh as he watched me swing around the bottle. "I deed." I nodded, and not giving much thought about the pronunciation tried to stand up, but my legs did not seem to listen to the commands send by my brain.
