I don’t know why he was so adamant to have me when he could just mark and mate with Samantha making her his Luna. I’m guessing when they disappear they go back to run the pack. The one that I didn’t believe existed until they came back smelling of different scents one day a while back. It would be so helpful if I could remember something. Anything! Just one thing, please mind. Tell me who it is that I miss so much, help me cure my aching heart. The men in my dreams, the woman and man, the group of people around my age telling me things like I should be familiar with them.

Her skin soft and warm against his, her breath on his chest, her hair smelled of lavender brushed under his chin. "You don't remember anything?" she couldn't imagine what he must've gone through. He shook his head, "I had a dream about it ... I think it was a glimpse of what I saw in that brief time I woke up in that room ..." he rubbed his face to wipe away the nightmare. "I don't want something like that to happen to you ... we can't risk it, your teacher is right, we have to get out of this contract." Charlie paused for a moment, she too had a confession to make. "About my teacher ..."

I waited a long time, but he just couldn't stop. Finally, I let myself lean gently against his shoulder and closed my eyes. "Dad…Mom… I'm sorry…" I could feel someone shaking me, but I couldn't open my eyes no matter how much I tried. "Open my eyes and look at me, Kate! Please don't do this! I'll take you home! I'll take you right now!" The moment he lifted me, my hand slipped down limp and weightless, like a puppet with its strings cut. Jason froze for a moment, his body trembling hard.

I’m tired of waiting, I’m tired of asking, and I’m tired of chasing the dream that will never be mine. I’m done waiting, I’m done asking, and I’m done trusting.
