Hello readers, thank you for following the story so far. The plot is about to take a dark and intense turn. I made an effort to incorporate the elements of a dark romance, danger, suspense, and maybe a bit of romance. Keep in mind that the title of this book is “TAINTED LOVE” (A Dark Mafia Romance). What is the first thing that comes to your mind? If you believed the book was dark in the previous chapters, well, it has just intensified. LOL.

I let the weight of those words settle, watching their reactions in the firelight’s glow. The room remained silent—too silent—until William, my uncle, rose. His tall frame loomed, confidence etched on his face but his eyes betraying tension. “It cannot be done,” he intoned, voice measured. “The Festival is a time of joy. The coronation is sacred ceremony. Combining them would diminish the sanctity of both.”

One finger taps his wrist, a silent countdown. Twelve days are over.
