His hand twitched—like he was about to hit me—but at the last second, he turned and punched the framed wedding photo on the wall instead. With a loud crack, the frame shattered, glass shards scattering across the floor. He left. I knelt down and quietly began picking them up. As I stared at my broken reflection, realization settled in. When I cried… I looked exactly like Luna. I stopped. Then, without hesitation, I ripped the photo to shreds.

My fingers reached behind her head and untied the knot holding the blindfold in place. The fabric peeled away. It was damp. Not damp. Soaked. The entire inside of the cloth clung to itself from hours of tears. Interesting. I tossed it onto the bed before reaching for the gag. The knot came undone quickly, and I pulled the strip of cloth from between her teeth. A deep red mark remained at the corners of her mouth. "Luna." Still nothing. I gave her shoulder a firm shake. "Luna." Another. Nothing. I clicked my tongue.
