The ensuing light illuminated the trinkets lining up her bed to her periphery vision. Vivian stiffened when her eyes glazed over a small, palm-sized porcelain doll sitting at the head of her bed. It was the male partner of the pair of dolls. She had stuffed the grinning, happy doll into her mother’s suitcase before her parents left, the one that was supposed to have returned to Liam. Her hands were shaking as she seized the doll and examined it. When she found a small, blemish-like black spot on the doll’s eyebrow, tears poured out of her eyes.

The spike of the chants grew louder and I couldn’t bring myself to look at what they were doing. My body screamed at me just lay down and sleep, to get some rest but I knew that wasn’t an other and it would never be an option until I had gotten the book and find a way to save Valerie. I tried closing my eyes, but everytime I did so, I saw their faces. Valerie being treated like a pet and them acting like she was worthless- nothing more than a tool for them to use as they wanted. The oracle girl, clutching her mother’s hand.

Valerie reached in her bag and pulled out the huge book from her pack. We sat down on the ground; Valerie opened the book. Inside was full of pictures of ancient wolves, weapons, and lots of words. I looked over skimming the pages as Valerie looked for any helpful information. I kept looking hoping we would find something. It was starting to get light out, the sun offering its light for us to read. I yawned; I couldn’t help how tired I felt. Valerie noticed me yawn. “Your Majesty, you need to take a rest, you are carrying twins.” She watched me as though I may go into labor any minute. She reached in her bag pulling out a blanket. She handed it to me.

She seemed to understand the conversation between Sherry and Queenie. Sherry did not want her to hear these bad things, so she said to Queenie, "It's a long story. I'll tell you later." "Okay." In a short while, Sherry and Queenie returned to John's place with Caprice and the pile of beautiful dolls that Caprice had taken from Queenie. Caprice wanted to be placed down when they arrived at the warm house, so Sherry put her down. The little girl reached out again and asked for the bag of dolls Sherry was carrying.

I didn’t expect Davvy to knock me in my room and it would soften like this to me now. She immediately lay down on her bed while I hugged her. It was as if something touched my heart as I watched it. I sat on her side and then picked up the book she wanted me to read. The book title is Barbie and the Island Princess. At first, it was okay as I read that, but in the end, I suddenly felt heavier. I am figuring out that Barbie was Davvy. I thought it was just a love story between Barbie and the prince, but I am wrong because there is a part in the end that Barbie's mother is a queen lady.

Chapter 1 The room was gloomy and dimly lit. The only beam of light in the darkness came from the screen of the Television. Nestled in my usual chair, my eyes rested on the flickering screen of the big box. On the screen of the box was a girl, staring at three traditional african dolls, all of them were dressed in white gowns. One was burned to a crisp, the second was only scorched on one side and the third was untouched by the flames. The girl reached out her hand and picked up the doll that had not been burned. She smiled down on it and caressed its cheek. The doll had eyes that seemed to sparkle. I stared in horror as the sparkly eyes suddenly warped into a bloody red. The doll cackled fi

Valerie, crying, yelled, "I ended up like this because I wanted to give you a child! How can you abandon me?" Eugene's voice was filled with despair. "What do you expect me to do for you? I don't have a penny those people won't take from me. And isn't this all your fault anyway? Caleb stole all my money and drove Mom to her death. If you hadn't insisted on having my baby, claiming it would bring her good luck, we wouldn't be in this terrible situation."
