My eyes widened-he'd said it loud enough for others to hear. He caught my reaction and scoffed lightly. "Relax. Everyone here is one of us. You'd know that if you were fully transitioned." I let out a quiet breath and slid into the seat across from him. "Is this your place?" I asked, glancing around the cozy shop. He nodded. "Yeah. Vampires only really drink three things, blood, alcohol, and coffee. I figured I'd give them a place to enjoy at least one of those in peace. And talk."

Even without the meteor shower, that night would have been fun. I felt a lot of things that I hadn't felt in a very long time. Things that I didn't even realize that I missed. And some things that I probably would be better off if I ignored. But, for now, I was sitting on my side of Nico's bed, looking through one of the books he had on vampire history as he sat on his side, looking through a book of his own. Of course, I had read about vampire history when I was in school, but none of them were from a vampiric author. Which really made a difference.

Not that my opinion matters if I said it anyways. As we turned and walked back through the heavy brass doors, my mind was spinning out of control. The Royal Academy. Vampires. Wolves. The reality of my situation was crashing down on me like a tidal wave, burying the memories of high school, graduation, and my friends. But amidst the terror and the grief, a single, horrifying thought kept repeating in my head, louder than any council decree.

There were two ladders with wheels so that you could climb to reach a book you wanted. Sebastian pulled out a book or two to read the title, and then put them back. He decided on three. “These books are about various gifts vampires of the past have had and how to use them. There are three volumes. Let’s start there.” I took the books and looked at the unfamiliar words, feeling embarrassed. “I can’t read very well, if not at all anymore.” Sebastian said, “What do you mean. Haven’t you learned?” “When the Luna was alive, I had started my letters and sounds and started to build simple words. But after she died. The werewolves hated me and never gave me the chance to learn more.”

I close the door, lean back against it, my body trembling, breath coming shallow and fast as dread blooms deep in my chest. I heard every word. My hands shake as I rush to my bedside drawer, fingers fumbling for Betty’s phone. One word echoes relentlessly in my mind as I type it into the search bar. Sanguinari. The result appears almost immediately. And as I read, all the blood drains from my face. Because, there stark and unforgiving on the screen, I understand at last. Alexander Matesson is a vampire.

She reluctantly sat there, looking at the Goddess in front of her. "Give me your hand," Hecate offered, showing the girl her upturned palm. She placed hers in it, a little surprised at the coldness meeting her skin. "You are grieving. Your heart has been broken by the vampire," the Goddess' voice sounded ominous and powerful, suddenly coming from all around her. Diana's breath hitched in her throat. The Goddess wrapped her hand around hers, her sharp and black nails quickly sinking into Diana's skin like tiny blades, drawing blood. Diana let out a pained mewl, eyes widening with alarm.

His pale face was calm, and his eyes glowed faintly in the semi-darkness. "You’re early," he said quietly. Raymond stood up immediately. The vampire. Always showing up at the wrong time. "I protect what has been entrusted to me. Even if the Alpha dislikes it." Elian looked at me. "The magic is growing stronger. I can feel it. And others feel it too. Liora spoke with two elder Fae last night. They are planning something. Your soul is the target." Raymond’s jaw tightened. "How do you know that?"

"Our time is primitive in many technological ways that you are accustomed to. But we are, in other ways, more sophisticated than even your modern time. We are extremely knowledgeable, and scholarly, and books rule the day. A people of primitive means, maybe, but with a very sharp intellect. “More importantly, this is a crucial time for the vampire race. We stand at a crossroads here. You have arrived at the turn of the century for a reason.” "Why?" Caleb asked. The woman smiled at them before entering yet another door. "The answer to that is one that you will have to find out for yourself.” They entered another magnificent room, with soaring ceilings, stained glass, marble floors, adorned wi

I was completely out of control. Even if Geo tried to resist, I question if he could have fought me off. He may have been a one-thousand-year-old vampire, but I had the strength and power of a newbie with sexual needs that demanded satiating. One of the things I’d read and heard about vampires in the folklore while growing up was that, for the first few months after their transition, the newly made vampire possessed incredible strength that would rival the oldest of vampires. This was one tale that proved to be true. I held Geo in such a vice grip and devoured his lips with such passionate aggression that he grunted in discomfort rather than the lustful ecstasy I was experiencing.

The woman is still sound asleep, I undress her, i need her dress, as mine tore when i shifted, i bite her neck and drain as much blood as quickly as I can. I bite my wrist and put it to her mouth just so she heals and no one knows she was killed by a vampire, I then get Nova to dig a hole, bury her and put her dress on. This is it, I need to find my mate, I head back toward the town and pick up his scent, following it away from the town.
