Thorin’s army moved like a storm through the valley, surrounding the vampire territory from every side. From our hidden position among the rocks, we watched the battle begin. It was brutal. The wolves crashed into the vampires like a tidal wave of claws and teeth. Blood painted the ground within minutes. Even from a distance I could hear the screams. The vampires fought fiercely. But they were outnumbered.

Cassandra’s point of view: “You know this creature?” Dalton sounded shocked that I'd identified it. “Well no… I mean yes but I’ve only seen them in movies.” I was confused to see one here, in the middle of a pack of wolves. “Do you know how to defeat it?” He stared at me, hoping to hear me say yes. I wasn’t so sure if I knew how to defeat one. From the movies I’ve seen, zombies are different and the ways to defeat them varies depending on their strength and abilities.

There were six of them in the room and more outside. I didn't know if Daniel could handle all of them, as he seemed to be struggling already, having taken down only four so far. I couldn't help him; I was taken aback by their strength and the brutality with which they killed each other. They acted like wild beasts, tearing and snapping each other's necks. Dust filled the air as heads were severed, the quickest way to kill creatures like them.
