Veda Austin Books Novels & Stories

"The wolves approved it." "The wolves deserve royalties." Even the cashier struggles not to laugh. As we leave the bookstore carrying our ridiculous purchases, someone calls my name. I turn. Austin walks toward us with his hands in his pockets. Sandra looks at me. I nod slightly. "It's okay." Austin stops in front of us. For a moment, nobody speaks. Then he looks at me. "I saw the vote." "You follow business news now?" "I was checking…..." He sighs. "Never mind."

The shop owner, a kind-looking elderly man, adjusted his reading glasses and helped her compare colors. “This imported lace would work well for repairing a wedding dress.” He nudged his glasses up his nose Wendy’s fingertips traced the delicate patterns when she suddenly heard hurried footsteps behind her. “Wendy!” She turned around to see Austin jogging toward her with a stack of books in his arms. He stopped in front of her, slightly out of breath. “I asked a friend to bring the bridal design references you wanted over.” She took the books from him. It was the latest issue of International Wedding Gown Design and several professional manuals.

The next day, [Rina P.O.V] The discovery happened in the east wing's abandoned storage, where Austin had gone searching for arrow shafts that the university's fletchers had stopped producing three decades prior. I found him kneeling between towers of rotting trunks, his lavender eyes fixed on a leather-bound book that had fallen from a crate marked for disposal. His fingers hovered above the cover without touching, as if the object might dissolve or bite or reveal itself as something other than what it appeared.

It's hard to focus without her, but I lead Axar into the small library with me as I begin to search. Having been alive for so long I've acquired many books and ancient pieces of literature. Some are in immaculate shape, others are torn segments and several pages, barely tethered together by bits of spine. Many of these are family heirlooms as well, handwritten and handed down to future generations for guidance. Some are my own notes and contacts, roughly scribed here and there and then stuffed back onto shelves. I find several books on banshees and a couple on cambions. I find some on death as well, and I stack it into my arms with the rest the pile. "Take this one too." Axar softly suggest

“Then sleep, darling. I will be here when you wake up.” Austin POV I watch my mate lay back down. As soon as she closed her eyes, she fell asleep. I see the book that Dr. Hadley gave her. I’m glad she is reading it and getting familiar with how pregnancy works. I think when she is done reading, I will need to read it too. I may understand how pregnancy works, but I don’t know everything I need to expect and I certainly don’t know all the do’s and don’ts. I mind link Dr. Hadley. I start asking her about Rebel and meeting with Harris.

Austin asked and sat on the bed, pulling her close to his lap. "Do you remember I went to Kashi with Rashmi Maa and mother Hiral ?" Myra asked him. "Yeah, you went for some Pooja (worship)," Austin remembered. "I saw this girl there. My eyes caught her glimpse at once. She was beautiful, but she had a pure heart. I met her often there. I observed her. She helped older adults and visited Orphanages and also nursing homes. I came across her there," A slight smile came on Myra's face.

“I’m scared, Seara. Seeing you scream in pain on that altar… that’s not something I ever want to see again.” Seara fell silent for a moment, then a small laugh escaped her pale lips. "Oh, look at that. The mighty Alpha turns out to be trembling over a weak girl like me? You look so funny when you’re anxious, Austin. Your face looks like a dog that’s lost its bone." "You’re the poodle. Always fainting," Austin grumbled, though his heart felt a little relieved to see the girl was able to tease him again. A knock on the door interrupted their conversation. Elder Vanya entered with a faint smile on her face, lined with wise wrinkles. Her presence brought a sense of calm into the room.

Austin got interrupted when Athena spoke. “Oh, please, Austin… I’m not a kid anymore. I have my own life, and you can’t manipulate me. And just for the record, I broke up with Dr. Lee.” she said as she went to the kitchen to drink water and leave the two dumbfounded. When Austin realized what she said, he followed Athena into the kitchen. “What is wrong with you, woman?! Are you being manipulated by that Ethan Reed?” Athena scoffed like she was hearing something ridiculous. “Why are you acting like this?! Don’t you know how worried we were?! Especially when I found out you left with that asshole.” Austin was fuming mad. He really was worried that Ethan might take her and imprison her again.

It was near the mansion of Austin, which was made by Kamala. She decided to meet Nevena in the café near the houses. "How have you been?" She asked as soon as they met. "I'm getting by, it's just that this baby is kicking a lot these days. And how are you" Nevena smiled warmly. "Pregnancy will tire you, as for me, I'm getting by" "Right, you said you wanted my help" "Yeah, I need to know what Austin is doing and what are his plans and so on"

It is the most easily accessible, so many people go there to relieve themselves of the stress that comes with work and life. Atharvaveda is a library on the northern side of the city. The library has been locked for centuries, but it is said that it contains knowledge beyond human comprehension. No one has been able to unlock its doors for years, so no one has ever really seen even a page from its shelves. People claim that it contains books that could teach a person the ways of the divine realm and how to control the world, or drive a person insane,” the driver continued. “Wow, you know so much about the city; why are you not your guide?” Mary asked.
